This beautiful renovated 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom property sits on an acre of land on Lake Champlain in New York near Plattsburgh. Large front and back yards with 150 feet of private beach across the road with a private beach cabin. This 2000 sq foot house sleeps up to nine people and is perfect for family getaways. Kayacks, paddle boards and a canoe included. Outdoor fire pit and a large front deck to take in the wonderful views of Vermont, the lake and the Green Mountains. TV, Wifi and Netflix provided. Close to Ausable Chasm, Plattsburgh, right inside the Adirondack Park. Three golf courses nearby. Public beaches nearby.

Family Summer Vacation
As our kids get older (ages 21,18,17,14) , we know our vacations together may not be as often, so I cherish every moment. This property and location was perfect for our family of 6. It was far enough away from everything to relax and enjoy the quiet but close enough to plenty of attractions when we wanted a change of scenery. The lake view was amazing. We enjoyed the quiet mornings having coffee on the porch and afternoons paddle boarding and kayaking. Our family dinners in the well appointed, spacious kitchen were fabulous followed by more family time around the fire pit. The house was perfect, clean and beautifully decorated. The kids also enjoyed spending time in the yard playing games and passing ball. Catherine, is the most attentive hostess. She is quick to respond and thinks of everything! We will definitely plan another trip to Valcour Cottage in the years to come!

Everything we had hoped for!
This is a beautiful home! We were in the area visiting our son who is a student at SUNY. The spacious kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals together. Very well stocked supplies, and the firepit was a treat! We made S'mores and just enjoyed quality time together. We would definitely stay here again!

Fall scenic vacation

Incredible View
We had a wonderful vacation here! We enjoyed hanging out on the front porch with the beautiful view of the lake and Green Mountains of VT, sipping coffee on stools at the kitchen island, lounging on the rocks by the shore or in the shady cabana, having dinner and playing cards at the huge dining room table, cozying on the big couch to read or watch a movie, and roasting marshmallows on the coals in the fire pit out back! The house and bathrooms were clean and the bedrooms were a good size and comfortable. And Ausable Chasm was a quick drive away and just beautiful. Be careful crossing the road to get to the lake as cars come quickly around the corner. Highly recommend this property!

New Year's Eve
This property was everything that we wanted it to be and as described in listing. Our favorite place to hang out was in the kitchen with the huge island. We spent most of our time cooking great meals and playing games to bring in the New Year! Catherine was very prompt on communications, which made it that much better. Would love to come back to stay. Our first night we went to Livingood's Restaurant, I would highly recommend.

Three generations getaway
Great location and beautiful view of Lake Champlain. We appreciated the downstairs bedroom for my in-laws who have trouble with stairs. The house itself is very clean - big beautiful kitchen! Enjoyed front porch, back deck, fire pit and there was a crazy wiggle ball game in the backyard! Would definitely consider staying again!

Awesome week on the shores of Lake Champlain
Our group had a truly amazing vacation in this beautiful home. We were a total of 4 adults and 1 toddler. The house was beautifully appointed and very clean. Beds were great. The kitchen area is amazing, the pictures actually don’t do it justice. Views of Lake Champlain are abundantly visible. The private beach and hut are awesome and took things to the next level, we spent a lot of hours there. The kayaks and paddle boards provided are very good quality. The lake itself is spectacular. You could spend hours sitting on the front porch just looking at the lake with Vermont’s green mountains in the distance. The host was very responsive and provided accurate information. Given the times we live in, this is a beautiful place to social distance and have a wonderful time doing it!

The Perfect Lake vacation
Everything about the rental process was smooth and flawless. Catherine is a warm and accommodating host, and the property is pristine, and honestly better than the photos. The bed rooms are LARGE and the kitchen is fully stocked. The beach is rocky, the water is crystal clear, and all the water toys make the visit. We spent entire days lounging in the beach hut and taking turns paddle boarding and playing with the kids. It was truly perfect. 10/10 would recommend.

Great Stay - Perfect for Physical Distancing!
This location and home was so incredibly perfect for our group - we are a family of four (teen son and teen daughter) and we met up with my parents for the week to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. The bedroom set-up was perfect - we all took over the upstairs and my parents had the downstairs to themselves. We loved that there was a full bathroom downstairs and a full bathroom upstairs. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very spacious (our bedroom had a huge walk-in closet that I LOVED and thought it would be a perfect extra "room" for a couple with a smaller child). This house had EVERYTHING we needed. Everything was organized and easy to find. The kitchen / dining area was very spacious and had plenty of seating around the island in the kitchen and a huge dining room table. There was also a good sized table on the back deck AND the front deck. Speaking of the front deck - what an amazing place to sit and drink our morning coffee and talk for hours each morning. We even woke up early two mornings to watch the amazing sunrise. The backyard - HUGE. We set up a badminton net which provided fun for all. The purple wildflowers were in full bloom and made the area stunning. We hired a professional photographer to take family photos of all of us and the pictures she took in the backyard at 7:00 PM with the setting sun sifting through the trees - WOW. The firepit was our entertainment each night (we ran to the store to get what we needed for smores). We enjoyed star gazing and chatting with the crackle of the fire (more firewood provided than you can imagine, which was a huge bonus!). Now my favorite part: The "Happy Hour Shack". Every hour spent there was over-the-top HAPPY, whether it was 5:00 PM or 5:00 AM. We brought the 2 stand-Up paddle boards and the kayaks down to the shack as soon as we arrived and spent most of our time floating (there was also a canoe and life jackets, paddles and a HUGE island float!). We hit our goals of boating to Valcour Island and little Garden Island that was well-guarded by birds protecting their young. We loved searching for beach glass and beautiful fossils in the rocks. We loved just sitting in the shack (chairs and table provided), talking and listening to the gentle waves. Somehow we also fit in a hike around Ausable Chasm and strawberry picking at Rulfs Orchard (both open now and right down the road). THANK YOU!

Valcour Cottage
The moment we walked into the house we knew we had made the right choice of a vacation property. The house is truly a "home" where we felt comfortable and welcomed. Lake Champlain is across the street and the view is spectacular. On a windy day, it looks like an ocean, but on warm, sunny days, it is a calm lake. Catherine is a terrific host, responding to questions immediately. The appliances are top level and easy to use. As for the kitchen, it is a dream to cook in. It is fully stocked with cookware and serving utensils and even includes spices that we needed. The Wi-fi is fast, the bed is comfortable and this was a terrific home to stay in.
