"Beautiful area, of course we're in Austria! Traffic through the Fernepass was atrocious, which is right near Obsteig. Construction was in process across the road from hotel and the trucks that traveled the road all night that our room overlooked were very loud. No A/C so leaving windows open was a must. "Loved the property as it was almost fairytale like. The staff was lovely and did everything possible to help us navigate the area. It is not easily reached by train and Uber is non-existent, but the property and its location is 5 star. Breakfast was included and it more than exceeded my expectation. If you are have a car, put this on your Favorites List. "

"Excellent setting,we had a spectacular view from our balcony if you were standing, not at all if sitting in the chairs provided,the wooden balcony obscured the view completely.The room was big clean and pleasant and generally typical of a top hotel,although I have stayed in many hotels and had never stayed in one with no coffee making facilities in the room before,that was a down for me,I had to either call for room service or go down to the restaurant or bar area. "The Zugspitz Lodge was one of the best parts of our trip! It’s a little slice of heaven with beautiful 360 views. The staff was helpful and super accommodating. The lodge was super clean and cozy! We will definitely be back. Highly recommend! "

"A wonderful hidden gem on the side of a lake, overlooked by beautiful mountains. Lovely staff, delicious food. Just an easy place to stay and relax. I was told we were the 6th British couple to stay in the last 5 years. I'm not completely convinced by that but who cares, it was a joy."

Superb stay

"We were so impressed with the staff's helpfulness, friendliness and accommodating attitude - we actually wished we had booked a longer stay. Then there is the cleanliness and comfort of the hotel that was outstanding, plus the loads of amenities we didn't even get to sample due to our enjoying the slopes in Garmish so much. And we also revelled in the Amazing food + beer and wine. All in all, we felt like royalty staying at our winter palace :)"

"This was a truly welcoming, homely and professional hotel. We arrived early and they smiled and let us have our room with a warm welcome. Despite it being over new year and very busy around the castle they gave us a room with a birdseye view of the castle and also the beautiful horse pulled carriages some people use to get to the castle. I had been unable to get tickets to visit neuschwanstein castle before hand but they were able to get us some for the following morning and said their staff queue early for hotels patrons to get first choice on tickets. Breakfast and dinner were lovely too. The staff seemed happy and proud to be working here - as they should be. Really would recommend this lovely hotel "
