"This hotel, along with several others, offers a balcony with a great view of the river, mountains behind and passing hot air balloons but beware of the boat noise if spending any time in the room during the day. Our room was in great need of an update. Torn curtains and comforter, a safe too small for a 14” laptop, redundant wall brackets from long removed towel bars, and low powered mismatched lighting were poor choices for replacing whatever had been there originally. Room chair and free-standing closet, like many chairs in the restaurant, remain unstable even with added unconcealed steel angle brackets. The desk cabinet was left askew presumably by the previous guest for receptacle access. This is the only hotel in our >50 days in SE Asia where a receptacle adapter was needed for charging devices. Room was not cleaned even with the tag hung on doorknob which may explain the long black hair in the bathroom seen on our arrival and the floor under the bed that hadn’t been swept in a measurable time. On departure, we were asked if we’d consumed anything from the minibar but there never was anything in it on arrival. The bed was comfortable and the front desk had moments of helpfulness. Wifi was unreliable. Breakfast buffet is adequate and staff made a consistent and good natured effort to accommodate us wherever possible."
