This is a FANTASTIC property. The suite is very spacious. There are two separate bedrooms. They are also two separate pullout couches which are easy to open and close. My youngest slept on it. He said it was fine. It was not the most comfortable but it is a sofa bed. The kitchen is fully stocked. There was even laundry detergent for the washing machine. The rooms and overall resort was very clean. We stayed over what is typically thought of as Spring Break. The resort was full but did not feel crowded. There are a number of pools in Canyon Villas. It was easy to find seats each day and there were always clean towels available. The staff is great. There were a number of activities offered each day, although we did not partake. There is one food option. It is a grill with a good selection of options. We usually ate lunch there. In terms of location, there is a large outdoor mall with lots of restaurants right down the street. It includes a Target and grocery store. It was very convenient. The resort is about 25 minutes north of Phoenix and Scottsdale. It is about 2 hours from Sedona.
The only thing I would note is that usually you have access to the JW Marriott down the street. It has a lazy river and three waterslides. We were not able to use that property because it was during the Spring Break. You can get around it by purchasing passes on Resort Day Pass. It might be worth calling ahead if you want to use the Marriott to ensure it isn’t during a blackout period.
