Piasek Południe Holidays

This is a great location for southern Krakow. Away from the centre and expensive tourist restaurants, but still close to (apparently) the best pirogi (according to the locals). We pretty much just slept in the hotel, and for this it was clean and offered everything we needed to enjoy Krakow.

This is a very good hotel. Clearly recently renovated, appliances are new. Reception employees are excellent. They raise overall the rating of the hotel to me. Polite, accommodating, attentive, kind and approachable, professional and multilingual. Room functionality was off you can hear what happens in the room next to you: we woke up one night from people having sex. Very clear audio. Everytime other room occupant close the door, the lamps in our room would shake loudly. Function for room service/do not disturb didn’t work. Heat/AC didn’t work properly, always blasting cold air, and if turned off - it would get hot and stuffy quickly. Mattress was covered with a plastic protectors which makes you sweat, so points taken for that. Giving this hotel 4 Stars because of location, newly renovated interior, and wonderful employees.

The only thing that made this not perfect was a window between the bathroom and bed and an automatic light sensor. So if you go to the bathroom at night, the light shines through and wakes up the other person. We resolved this by just removing the room key card at night, but this turns off all appliances so in winter or summer, it would have been a problem. Otherwise very friendly professional staff, pleasant rooms. The breakfast is expensive compared to local shops and cafes but it was very good quality with eggs cooked to order as well as a buffet with smoked salmon, meats, cheese, salads, yoghurts, etc. The location is perfect for exploring Krakow.
