"We came to Shrewsbury to travel by train to Cardiff to go to see a rugby match. The Holiday Express was a perfect location. The staff were friendly, the bar and small restaurant were adequate - we had a light evening meal which was good. We stayed 2 nights, the room and bed were very comfortable and the breakfasts were absolutely superb - the best we have had in any hotel. It was also very quiet and safe to leave our car. "

"Room looks amazing, cleanliness is fair. Cleaner do a great job, walls could just do will a touchup of paint. Heating didn't work at through our stay, however there was an electric heater. But to use this would come them a fortune. Service in the bar was friendly and service amazing. Food was fantastic, they also had a great selection of beers for those who like that sort of thing. "It was in a good central location in easy walking distance of Shifnal if you wanted to eat elsewhere. We had a room in one of the cottages which was very nice and quiet, as it was away from the main function rooms in the hotel. The only issue was that the shower did not fully heat up as the shower thermostat wasn't functioning correctly. They offered us another room to move to, but as the water for the bath and sink was nice and hot we chose not to move. It was a good base for visiting...

"The hotel on arrival had a clean look with a pleasant perfume smell. The front desk service and booking in was quick and well explained. The room was clean warm and well presented with spare pillow's if needed. The swimming pool is heated and the gym is properly equipped. The menu is typical of a chain hotel. "

"We had a very good welcome when we arrived late due to a wedding we were attending. Quick and efficient check-in. Rooms were generally good, although the shower had signs of orange bacteria and some black mould on the ceiling. The bottom of the shower door and sealant around it was tatty and looked dirty, so much so that I didn’t want to use it. Breakfast was good, bit limited choice due to additional £5 charge for what you would expect to be on an ordinary hotel menu. Continental breakfast was...

"Friendly front of house staff, rooms clean but the bedrooms need an upgrade and so do the communal areas. Bathrooms renovated and very clean. Breakfast was pretty good. Excellent location. VERY hot! central heating on full blast. Would return for a one night stay."

"I love this hotel because it is quite unusual with lots of artefacts and antiques to look at. It is not a luxury hotel it is a budget hotel. I found my stay very very comfortable and it’s the quietest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I will definitely be staying here again if I’m in the area. I was able to get an Uber to the city centre for £6. Thank you for having me."
