Pitlochry Power Station and Dam

Gorgeous building and interior, very friendly and professional staff. A lovely bar and seating/dining area. The bedroom was very comfortable and roomy with a lovely view looking onto the chimney pots and the garden area. Excellent bath and shower and very good breakfast.

Whilst this place is a lovely place to stay and great location, and staff are very friendly. Unfortunately on this occasion, it didnt live up to the stay we had in the past at one of the London properties. The price that we had to pay, didnt meet our expectations. Very noisy room (1st floor) - the rooms open up onto an open hallway, so all noise from the entrance hall can be heard in the room. Plus the windows arent double glazed so you can hear the trams every 7 minutes plus the bottle collection early Saturday morning from the restaurants on the ground floor. Resturant staff I didn’t really appreciate when they questioned and lectured me on my parenting when my child was near the hallway handrails despite me being right beside her. As for the room - little disappointed that whilst I accept it is a self catering apartment, small basics would have been appreciated considering the price that I had paid. Examples being only a couple of tea bags for our 2 night stay, towels didnt get replaced, no tea towels, no chopping board, no washing up liquid, no salt & pepper, oil etc. Just little basics that could be provided, at little cost to the establishment rather than residents having to spend and then end up leaving everything behind. Finally, decor in the room - curtain didnt close properly which meant rooms were bright at night. Lots of marks on the room walls. A little dired looking.

What a gorgeous hotel! We spent 48 hours for Christmas in Edinburgh. Perfectly located in Old Town and close to the holiday market. Chloe at the front desk was lovely and found me a room that was quiet with the most amazing view over the castle. The staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Thank you to everyone for making my Christmas a memorable one. Will definitely be back!
