The host spoke excellent English, and was very helpful. Munich is about an hour away by car, and Augsburg is just 30 minutes. "I was all prepared for the apartment to be smaller than pictured, but it's actually much bigger, bright and airy. We brought a camp bed in case we needed it, but there were two double beds, a spare mattress with plenty of space to lay it out, and the corner sofa would easily sleep two tall adults. The floors are really solid, we never heard anyone below or next door. The beds were really comfortable (quite firm, which is how I like it, but if you prefer soft you might want to bring a topper)....

"Highly recommend to anyone interested in experiencing genuine Bavarian gemütlichkeit in a convenient location near Munich. The rooms were very clean, quiet and comfortable with modern bath fixtures. The food we ate in the gasthaus was fantastic, and if you're lucky enough to eat there on a Sunday you'll love the delicious desserts that are available, to include my favorite German kuchen, bienenstich. The Munchener schnitzel is worth a trip back by itself! The staff at this family-run gasthaus is very friendly, attentive, and are fluent in English for those of us that only speak a smattering of Deutsch. My wife, as well as the other couple we were traveling with, had no previous experience staying in a German gasthaus. We enjoyed our stay so much that we wanted to extend our stay, however, there was no availability of rooms. Can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay at Landhotel and Gasthaus Wiedmann!"

"The Seehof is the most perfect place to stay in Herrsching. Set directly lake-front with the most idyllic Bavarian look and feel. You truly feel like you are on a set from a movie. Directly outside the hotel is a pier where 2 gorgeous pleasure cruise boats dock and carry visitors across the beautiful lake Ammersee. The staff are helpful and pleasant. Herrsching will be your perfect lake front getaway and the Seehof will be your ideal central resting point with the most beautiful views."
