"The Thaxter Hotel was good (not great). We like the easy access and check-in/check-out process. The rooms are clean and quirky, bathrooms are nice but the bed was pretty uncomfortable. We picked this hotel based on its proximity to The Library restaurant which was literally right around the corner. No views from the rooms but we only stayed one night so it was no big deal. It is an easy walk to just about anything in Portsmouth (a great little town). I don't know that I would rush back to...

"We absolutely loved this hotel. It is a Lark Hotel and we stayed at a similar one in Saratoga Springs. The staff, Carma, was excellent and the hotel was beautiful, with great atmosphere. It was walking distance to the downtown Portsmouth area and had ample parking. The breakfast was also delicious, all in all, a great experience. "

Stay at North Beach Motel! Across the street from North Beach!

Cozy and sweet

"So the listing said that you could sleep four in this room but we were extremely cramped with just the two of us. There are no luggage racks or dresser so you will be living out of your suit case. The bed was comfy but it was a full size not a queen. We are fit people so it was a minor inconvenience for us, but if you’re big people, you will not be comfortable. Decor was eclectic. And parking is a major PITA. There are chairs right outside the window to sit and relax. But because parking is limited the spot right in front of our door is a parking spot for somebody in the apartment next to us and if somebody’s parked there, you’re not relaxing at all and if it’s a big vehicle, you are almost blocked in and have to move chairs to even get out. As the listing says it’s not hi-end accommodations and you get what you pay for. But the beach is great and the distance from my sister’s was ideal for us. Thank you Tyler. . "
