We had to make a detour from Haast, Fox Glacier and Fran Josef glacier due to slip activity so we made reservations here, Hanmer Springs then back to Graymouth to get back on schedule. The accomodations here were very nice. Kitchen, B/R and bath. We backed right up to the door to unload our luggage. The shower was super nice. The choice of TV channels was far above average. The motel is walking distance from downtown. Beware, the Four Square closes at 7pm....

"Mike and Julie are attentive, thoughtful and truly excellent hosts. This was our 2nd stay at the lavender farm and we wish we had booked for longer. "The property is sited on a farm. It is well away from an unsealed road (no traffic noise) and from the farm house. I think I may have heard a chain saw for a short while. In case you are worried there are no farmyard 'smells'. Check in and instructions on how to find the property were great. The manager replied promptly to my questions. "The view is beyond belief.. stunning. So is the environment. It was backed up by a level of care and attention to detail that many could learn from. The rooms were warm (important for folk used to a warm climate ). The bed was super comfortable, there were lots of pillows, extra covers.. There was a good coffee machine. Everything worked. There were well written instructions to everything. Would highly recommend."

"It was peaceful and immediately made me feel relaxed to overlook the hills, the cows in the nearby paddock & the trees and gardens surrounding the cabin; I wish I had spent my whole 5 days in the Fairlie/Geraldine area here. "This hotel was cheaper than most we have stayed at in new zealand but the welcome was friendly and efficient, the room had everything you needed, the bed was comfortable and our room had a large balcony. Although on the road, we were not disturbed by any noise overnight. Overall a great value stay."
