"I used Bar Peepal Resort as a base before and after a three-day trek to Mardi Himal viewpoint, without any expectations beyond being a place to stay. "Great central hotel to explore lake side within walking distance of lake Phewa, restaurants and bars. For KFC lovers, the only outlet in Nepal is opposite the hotel. While the rooms, particularly bathrooms have seen better days, value for money is still very good here."
