"The Mactoimin Cottage was perfect for us. We were out early every morning for hikes and back late in the day. A couple days we were back early for coffee on the porch and soaks in the hot tub. Heavenly. The best part perhaps was that we were three minutes from the sunsets on the beach! Stunning. We did not do any cooking, other than coffee. I was a wee bit surprised how close to the road we were, but there were barely any cars that went by. The owners were so kind, even when I called one night...

"Peaceful setting with spectacular views of the moonrise and sunrise seemingly coming out of the ocean. View from the sauna and hot tub were awesome. And the clear dome is a great space to relax if the wind comes up. Access to the beautiful fine sand beach is only a short walk to through the park next door. At night we fell asleep listening to the sound of the waves on the beach. The perfect spot for a relaxing getaway."

"I felt like I needed to get away from everything. This place was PERFECT. I even signed up for an extra day. The place had everything I needed, and communication was excellent. The view was gorgeous, and my pup loved the mowed patch out back for spontaneous fetch sessions. Cabot Landing blew his little Chocolate Lab mind! The first thing I did when I got home was try to figure out when I could get back there. "

"My family and I loved our stay. The cottage is cute with a beautiful view of the sea from the deck. I walked to the beach several times each day and enjoyed the amazing scenery. Nearby Chéticamp is quaint and has all you need for a relaxing vacation. The Cape Breton Highlands National Park offers breathtaking views from your car and even more to explore and see on its hiking trails. We would definitely stay here again."

You just need to bring yourself and a bit of food, everything is provided for you such as coffee, creamer, sugar, hair dryer, body was, shampoo and conditioner…I highly recommend this place. "We enjoyed our stay in the very cute Old Salt Cottage! It was very convenient to adventures in and north of Cape Breton park. Beds were comfy. Cottage is older but well maintained and freshly updated. Gas, groceries, and other convenience stores were not as close, but we were warned (it was not hard to remember to get stuff while we were out adventuring on the Cabot Trail). We would absolutely stay here again!"
