"We stayed for 4 nights while tobaggening in the region. We didn't know anything about Monstein and we were so pleasantly surprised! It is the most beautiful and quaint mountain village. Everyone in the town is so friendly. There are two restaurants (we had a lovely chat with the woman who owns the one up the street) and a small grocery store where you can pre-order a fondue mix to eat in the apartment (highly recommend!). "This place is about 20 minutes from city center, not far from the lake. There is a Lidi supermarket at the ground floor. Watch out - the room lacks some of the basic necessities, not even a box of tissues. The electric stove does not work in the room, so we just eat out. The only negatives were the property manager speaks very little English, so communication was tough and slow to respond.
