The property grounds are gorgeous and the included breakfast feels extravagant. Outside the property, there doesn't seem to be much close by but an easy 2 mile walk along the river or quick Uber ridehas you in Porto proper.

This is an attractive hotel a reasonable distance from central Porto. We liked it for the pool area which was quite beautiful and relaxing with a view over the river and one of the bridges. The Luis bridge/old town is a good 45 minute walk away but a fairly easy and cheap Uber (4-7 euro usually). There is not a huge amount immediately nearby but there is a nice riverside walk leading to a few cafe/bars and a good pizzeria. The staff were very good and helpful. Room size was decent in a superior double with room for an extra rollout bed for our child and still space to move about and sit on the sofa. Our 4th floor room had a lovely river view. Breakfast could be very overcrowded at times which was the only real negative.

However, the front desk staff that checked us in was very moody and gave direct one word answers to questions. The free bottle of wine was a 5Euro bottle which in all honesty was pretty terrible. The hotel rooms are apart from the Palacio, which can only be reached through the basement and an outside space. While the Palacio is nice, it attempts to accommodate corporate events, weddings and individual guests at the same time.
