"The hotel is in an excellent location, right in the centre of town, close to shops, dining and local attractions. What makes this hotel stand above the rest is the service you receive from every member of the hotel staff. They definitely go above and beyond. In addition, the hotel is beautiful. It once was a private residence and was recently renovated. However they were able to keep the integrity, beauty and charm of the original residence with modern amenities. "I arrived before check-in time but was given a room key without any fuss. Room was of a good standard with fridge and safe and overlooked the beach. I used the fitness room which was basic but sufficient, there were also two pools which I didn’t use. Breakfast was included and was very good value."

"The hotel is located 20 mins from Nazare and 10mins from Alcobaca. Its a hidden gem in the mountains. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Always with a smile. The suites all have a balcony and view of the valley. Breakfast spread was good. One of the best Frssh oranges i enjoyed was here. The kiwis were also fresh, sweet n juicy. Only peeve i had was with the internet router. Each room has its own wifi router and its from the TV. If you turn off the tv, internet is shutoff.. Wifi password...

"Our stay in the castle was a great experince. The staff friendly. Breakfast great with some healthy choices Need to know walking here is on cobblestones. Cars are not allowed. If staying at the castle you are walking with suitcases from the bottom to the top. Wear good shoes Lots to do within the castle. Other places to visit are about an hour away"

"Walked up from the train station. Beautiful location. Initially confused as to where lobby/ check-in is located because of so many Pousada Vila Obidos signs, but once we located the proper entrance, our experience could not have been better. Pedro is an excellent employee, giving us suggestions, answering questions, seeing us walking along the street and ensuring we were doing well later in the day. Walking along the top of the wall is so fun and you must try a ginja!"
