Perfect little house on the beach!
We had a great experience at Casita Luna. The beachy garden is wonderfully private & feels like you have the beach all to yourself! The evenings are quiet and peaceful with the sound of the wind & waves. The AC was a blessing on the few nights it was needed. The house itself was very clean and homey. The kitchen is not fancy but did the trick for breakfast and lunches and the occasional dinner. The bathroom is not fully enclosed (walls don't go to the ceiling) something to note if you're a person who prefers privacy. We didn't feel it was an issue. Shower temperature did required adjustments, but pressure was good and there was plenty of hot water. Lloyd and Varo were both wonderful, checking in to make sure everything was ok and if we needed anything. The extensive document shared about Puerto Morelos and the area (restaurant, activity recommendations) was very appreciated and thoughtful. It's about 30min walk to town via the beach, but it's lovely with big sections that were not developed/busy. The construction next door continues but wasn't too bad. If you want to sleep in (past 8am) and spend most of your time relaxing on the property, it can become a bit much (it's mostly hammers/saws, not really loud, but constant from 8-6pm). The property itself is really lovely and peaceful and quite unique when compared to the other properties along the beach in that area. It felt like a special spot that is well loved. We would definitely come back to.

Exactly what we needed!
Perfect relaxing retreat. Walked out to the beach everyday. Watched the various bird life, iguanas, and lizards. Walked to the owner recommended shops, restaurants, and groceries. We just played a lot. My son and I felt so at home and accommodated. Truly grateful!

We loved almost everything about this property! The casita was very clean and well equipt. The view and the beach are fantastic! The location is far enough away so there were never very many people on the beach. The playa downtown area is about a mile walk on the beach and only 10 minutes by car. The construction next door was not an issue. We never heard any heavy equipment, just saws and hammers. The wind and the waves covered much of the sound. The workers were polite and friendly and worked only normal business hours. A few fairly minor issues kept us from giving the property a full 5 stars. #1 - The shower required almost constant adjustment to keep at a comfortable temperature. There was plenty of hot water but the temperature would keep climbing requiring that the cold be adjusted, then the water would go cold. At that point you had to turn the shower off and start over. These action were required 2-3 times for each shower. At the time of our visit, there was a grey plastic tarp over the thatched roof covering the porch giving the casita a worn out look. On a minor note, some of the patio furniture has seen better days due to the salt air and the beach side door lock could only be locked/unlocked from the inside. Otherwise the property was well maintained. Lloyd and Varo were both friendly and helpful. Check out Varo's juice stand in town. It's also a good place to buy the freshest fruit!

little castita on the beach
the little place has the best location. literally right on the beach, with being 6 min away from downtown. so quiet, and peaceful. lots of nature, and critters. there are at least two coatimudis living in the palms who we got to see ev morning, plus lizards and birds of all manner. the little castita is sufficient, not overly luxurious but had everything a person needs. communication with the owners was lightning fast they are there to help you have a great experience. we cooked dinner and breakfast no problems, its not a gourmet kitchen but it gets the job done. home was clean and tidy. an outdoor shower to rinse the sand/sweat off, outdoor palapas to sit and enjoy the ocean breeze, screened in porch to have your meals, internet was flawless, and a newer smart tv. the only thing i could recommend is that someone had turned the a/c on before our arrival to start cooling the place down. it was stuffy and very warm when we got in, which was after dark the first night. other than that i have no complaints. would def stay again.

Magical spot
We were very pleased with the property. It is cozy but well appointed. The beachy garden is lovely and it is almost like having a private beach. The owner was great at communicating and arranged for the unit to be cleaned so we could have an early check-in. They are building a condo next door so there was some noise during the day. It is a mile and a half into town along the beach, so if you don't rent a car be prepared to do some walking. We would walk into town and catch a cab back. Plenty of great restaurants along the beach once you get into town.

Quiet blissful location
Casita Luna is ubicación tranquila. It's away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to walk to town for groceries or dinner. All one hears at night is the surf. The host Lloyd is thoughtful and communicative, seeming to anticipate any potential questions. The property manager Varo is kind, very responsive and responsible. We'll be returning!

Casita de la Luna is a little piece of paradise
Dear Lloyd and Joan, we are filled with gratitude for getting to stay here again. We love this perfect little house and the location. We were delighted with all the little improvements made since we last visited - the padded mattress cover on the bed has made it super comfortable and the dark curtains in the bedroom are a welcomed addition. We slept, we swam, we soaked in the sunshine and connected with nature, gleaning a sublime sense of peace and wellness that brings. Our thanks, as always, for Yesica and her warmth and hospitality. We look forward to our next visit. Happy New Year to you both, and our best wishes for a healthy and prosperous year to come. Fondly, Kim Goddard & Doug Devries.

We love staying in the Casita
This was our second time at the Casita, and we loved just as much as the first time. It's quiet, peaceful, beautiful, charming, and perfect for two people who love hanging out with each other, and relaxing in the sunshine. Yesica, the property manager, is incredibly helpful and a lovely person. We love watching all the wildlife on the property, and the family of agoutis and a stray kitten (for whom we found a forever home), made the holiday that much more enjoyable. We look forward to returning next winter. Thank you, Joan and Lloyd, for sharing this beautiful place with the world.

Cozy beachfront bliss
This property was the perfect antidote to a prairie winter! It is exactly as shown on the pictures: cozy and inviting. The bedroom upstairs is large and airy. In January, nights cooled down enough to allow for a comfortable sleep, so the fact that there is no air conditioning was not an issue. The kitchen, though small, had the essentials to be able to make meals. The eating area is in a screened-in gazebo which allowed us to eat in the evening without being bothered by the mosquitoes. We were at this property with friends who had the larger house but we ate every night at our casita for just this reason. The property itself is amazing! A large expanse of soft white sand leading to a beach which is virtually empty except for passersby. We would go into the water and sometimes be the only people there within sight. It was just the opposite of a resort, which is what we wanted. Vicky, the property manager, was wonderful! She came by, once we had checked in, to make sure we understood everything we needed to know and to let us know she was available should we have any questions. She would respond to emails almost immediately if anything came up. She even booked a snorkeling trip for us. The question for us is not if, but when we will be back.

Absolutely Amazing!
Where to start? The house itself is incredible! Pulling up to the gate and seeing all that white sand and hearing the waves was so thrilling. Its like vacation and relaxation await behind the gate. The casita was perfect for my husband and I. Its very well stocked with everything we needed, including cold water in the fridge and white wine on the counter waiting for us after a long day of travel. The charm of this house is that it is truly right on the water. We had coffee every morning in the very comfortable lounge chairs and just look in this ocean scene. The house is clean, comfortable, and totally perfect for two. Location is the next true appeal of this house. It took us (maybe) 20 minutes to get from the Cancun airport to the house. This is such a huge advantage. On our last day, being so close to the airport, meant we got to spend hours at the beach before it was time to go. While we are so close to Cancun, Puerto Morelos, is a small cute village. All the perks of being close to a bigger city, without any of the hassle! Not only are you close to the airport, we took two day trips both within a 2-hour drive from the house. It is the perfect launch point for nearby attractions ( we did Chichen Itza, Coba, and Tulum). You are also a short 2km walk to the town center. If you choose to walk to the beach, there are tons of taxis at town square to bring you back, if you don't want to walk back. We felt extremely safe in PM. We went to town every night, and never once had an issue. Like I stated earlier, we were so close to Cancun, but PM is like this little gem. At nights, the town square is packed with locals and tourists. People are strolling, lots of local crafts on sale in the square, and often times there were musicians as well. If you are a foodie, PM is the place for you! The restaurant options were very surprising. So much wonderful, fresh food to be had! Every restaurant we went to buys their seafood from the local fishermen, and the quality is mouth watering. Specialty cocktails, fresh ingredients, and such creative dishes, PM's food options will not disappoint One of the highlights of this trip, was the snorkeling of the MesoAmerican Reef. Vicky set up to have a captain come right to us on the beach and pick us up. From our little casita, we go out to the reef. The captain was great. Very knowledgeable about the reef and the town. This is a do not miss activity. It was a FABULOUS house! We will definitely be back!

Prepare for an amazing stay at this location
The casita was exactly as expected per the description. A perfect getaway for one or a couple. Great location on the beach, close to everything, yet secluded enough for peace and quiet when needed. We had a rental car and everyday we drove to some other exciting attraction like the ruins in Tulum and Coba, quad ride and cenote tour, the ferry to Cozumel or a day in Cancun for sightseeing and shopping. Most nights we enjoyed dinner in a local restaurant right in Puerto Morelos. I suggest stopping at the supermarket right at the exit off the highway on your first day in and pick up some local fruits and danish to enjoy breakfast right out the back door enjoying the view. 1 week here was not enough time to fully enjoy everything this area has to offer. Our next stay will have to be for a minimum of 2 weeks as this is so much better than staying at a resort where everything is planned or scheduled based on the masses, while here you can do things at your own pace and on your own schedule.

Privacy on the beach, perfect little casita!
Everything you could imagine was provided, well equipped kitchen and bathroom with super fluffy towels. All was clean and in good working order. When the coffeemaker quit working on the 3rd day, Vicky was instantly out to purchase a replacement the same day and even asked if we needed her to pickup anything at the store while she was out. The upstairs loft bedroom had windows all around and made you feel you were sleeping in the palm tree tops. Saw a few resident iguanas and a very cool stripe basilisk lizard. Very quiet and private. The gardener cut open two young cocos right from the many surrounding trees for us to enjoy the water which was wonderful. You do not need a/c with the ceiling fans and open windows it even was a little cool on some evenings. Wifi was excellent. Unfortunately the weather created piles of sargassum on the beach and in the water during our stay, no fault of the lovely casita, just Mother Nature. We used a local cab driver named Daniel Efraim and by texting on Whatsapp he was always ready to pick us up in 15 minutes and go to town or all the way to our next place in Playa de Carmen along with banking, shopping and stopping for lunch for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend him and he speaks good english We enjoyed relaxing on the screened in porch and afternoon siestas on the comfy loungers in the shade. the walk along the beach to town was about 30 minutes. PM has some great places to eat and drink and all the locals were friendly and kind. You will enjoy your stay should you decide to book.

Quiet little cottage with a great view and beach.
We had a very nice stay here, a quiet place which is a good distance from town. Perfect if you are renting a car, but you can also get a cab to town or the store. No TV or radio in the smaller cabin right now. Internet works okay, coming from the house next door. We spent a lot of time on the screened in porch in front. Lots of stars can be seen at night on the lounge chairs in front, and also lit up cruise ships going by. Our gas stove decided to quit working while there, so Vicki lent us her electric skillet.

Quiet and comfortable, and steps from the ocean
We really enjoyed our stay at the Casa and are already planning to be back next year. It's small, tidy and well appointed, and has most everything someone who is intent on relaxing and enjoying their time in Puerto Morales could ask for. We spent as much time under the sun as we could. Vickie, the property manager, is very friendly and helpful and became an instant friend. The town is untouched by big American franchises and remains charming and serene. The beach is miles of soft, powdery white sand. The ocean is warm and often superbly calm. We made friends with the resident iguana, and are hoping he's not wondering where the heck his morning chunk of banana is. We slept well. We ate well. I speak little to no Spanish. but that presented little trouble because the locals are friendly and kind spirited. It was the holiday of a lifetime. I'd recommend a stay here to anyone.

My wife and I recently stayed at Casita de La Luna for our anniversary. The casita is a very charming place secluded on the beach as it is. It is a great place to relax away from the crowds. Lovely mostly quiet spot with a private beach
We loved our visit To casa de la luna. It may be a bit isolated for some but we enjoyed the half hour walk to town. It is only a five minute walk to desire where you can get a cab to town Cabs back are 50 pesos. Cheap! it is a perfect spot otherwise

Nice spot for a single or a couple!
We had the pleasure of staying at both the Casita de la luna and Casita de las Estrellas during our time in Puerto Morelos. Both properties were very clean and well maintained and the grounds, both garden and beach, were awesome. The two Casitas are in the same compound, but still provide privacy, but also the chance to meet your neighbors! Proximity for all your essentials was excellent and even a trip by taxi to Cancun for New Years was quite reasonable (going at least!). Both Casitas had basic amenities and great atmosphere. We loved the loft bedroom in the first house (de la luna), and the additional space in de Las Estrellas! This Casita was a little small but with the covered patio you had a great area to kick back, without bugs and would provide cover should it rain. We rented a car and had no problem finding the location even in the dark, as the instructions provided were very easy to follow, my only suggestion is a better light at the door, as when arriving in the dark it can be challenging to find the right key...and the keyhole! Overall we enjoyed our stay and the beautiful beach and thank Joan for her hospitality in welcoming us to her homes!
