This condo could be so cute and cozy BUT it currently needs deep cleaning and has maintenance issues. The internet is not always available, as stated. During our stay it was down off and on, and once for over 24 hours. This makes timely communication with the property manager very difficult. No one's fault, it just is.
Our stay started off with the air conditioner running and blowing hot air. I called the property manager (PM) and his response "It was working when I was there last week." We left the condo as it was too hot and returned late to sleep in a hot condo.
The air conditioning unit was repaired the following morning, while we waited 3+ hours. During this time I finally checked out the condo and notice the following: Active termites in the master bathroom, moldy shower curtain, sheets stained and torn, flannel undershorts left under the master bed, kitchen faucet leaking with a bowl of stagnant overflowing water, no kitchen linens or cleaning supplies, dirty cutting boards, dishes and kitchen oven, water damage and paint peeling in front bathroom and moldy shower curtain, ceiling fan not working in the guest bedroom, slider door in guest bedroom cannot be opened because of sand in the track and lack of maintenance, living room electric panel exposed with no cover and an electric outlet pulled out of the wall. I tried to contact the PM that day but the internet was down, I was finally able to send an email with pictures the following day.
A cleaning lady did show up the morning of day 4 of our 5 day stay. I sent her away as I had no idea who she was or why she was there, and I could not communicate in her language. I did not realize that the PM sent her to "address all of your issues". The PM did not call to let me know she was coming but sent an email instead. There was no direct communication with me. Again, the internet was down so I did not read the email until that afternoon. But really . . . Why would I allow a total stranger, who I cannot communicate with, into the condo I was renting? Stranger Danger!
As the PM said, he was there the week before; it should have been cleaned and maintained. In hindsight, this condo should not be rented out as it has health and safety issues with the termites, leaky pipes, mold and electrical concerns. I sent the PM pictures so I hope he will step up and do the right thing.
