"Everything was dirty in the property, from the shower curtain full of black mold to coffee maker and fans. Streets are full of garbage outside, smell of sewages and garbage is everywhere. In the shower we found worms and spiders. They even did not have the cutesy of cleaning the dishes, we had to re-wash everything before use. It was horrible. We decided to leave for a hotel the last 5 days of our trip."

"Gorgeous house, my kids loved it very much, lots to do in the area, Rhonda had everything highlighted on a book, of what her favourite places to see were. I would stay here again, and Rhonda was a great host. The house was slightly difficult to find, we showed up super late and my service wasn’t working on my phone…. But we made it in the end. "

"Property is as described. It's dated but well cared for. The caretaker is great. PLEASE note. Last few kilometers of road are not paved...we had 4x4's was fine. Closest supermarket is a 40 minute - hour drive. Beach isn't the best for swimming but totally remote and private. We loved this place. "

"The house was bigger and nicer than I expected. The view is incredible! So fun spotting coatimundis and hummingbirds even from inside the house through the big windows all around. Raul was the most helpful and friendly host - he even pulled our car out of a ditch! Lillian's dinner was from heaven - perfect meal for our family after arriving from a long day of travel. Thank you for such a nice time in Monteverde!"

"Es magnífica, por lo siguiente: A) Excelente servicio al huésped. B) Hubo verdadera preocupación por el bienestar del huésped. C) Alimentación variada cada día que estuvimos ahí. D) Cercanía a nuestro hogar. E) Espectáculos excelentes. F) Solucionaron las dificultades de manera expedita. G) Relación calidad/ precio es acorde a lo que brindan. H) Siempre un saludo cortés de parte del personal. [Menos Aldo, muy despectivo la verdad] I) Excelente trato y preferencia para el adulto mayor. J) Cuenta con una piscina exclusiva para adultos, sin niños ni adolescentes. K) Cócteles de primera calidad. L) Cercanía con la playa. "I loved the location, the beach, the street vendors. The water is beautiful and warm. We went swimming at night, it was great. The staff was very nice, just didn't seem very knowledgeable. Breakfast was great also. There is a shower by where there park the cars to rinse off from the ocean."

"Unfortunately due to tight international layovers we missed our first two days in the area, and only stayed one night here. The staff was so accommodating and nice and even tried to look to extend our stay with them (even though we couldn’t because we already had another stay booked elsewhere). Most of the staff was fluently bilingual. The reception desk was very helpful at finding good local places. What a beautiful, unique place! I wish we could’ve actually enjoyed being here. Breakfast was delicious! "

Tango Mar Beachfront Boutique Hotel & Villas

"Tango Mar is the best resort style accommodations we have ever stayed. And, we have spent decades resort living for vacations. The Management has created at atmosphere of family with the entire staff and every guest. You feel welcome the moment you step up to the front desk to check in. The restaurant menu is diversified with meat, fish, poultry and pastas. And, more importantly, the quality and presentation was absolutely exceptional. And the Tropical Salad is on you do not want to miss. Outstanding! In fact, we had a 2 bedroom villa with a full kitchen- and we never used i!!!! The grounds and pools are well maintained and the entire area was never even remotely crowded, even though they were fairly full. Beach walks right out your front door, and a trail to a waterfalls that drops into the ocean is magnificent! If you’re coming to Costa Rico, do not miss Tango Mar."

"Quiet, beautiful. My kids were able to see agouti, coati, and all sorts of birds from our balcony in the mornings and the staff was very friendly and enthusiastic about teaching them about the animals. One of the restaurants had a great little nature walk below the terrace so the kids had a great time running around while we waited for the food, which was also delicious. The hotel was well located so most of the things we wanted to do in Monteverde were a short drive or even walkable. Would stay here again!"
