Handsome furnishings,linen,& building.
Breakfast has moved to the basement instead of lovely dining room,so I did not eat,no room service even for coffee & pastries.
Attic room with small window,good view of Grey Street. Shower over bath is awkward for elders.
Poor wi fi,a nuisance.
Took 3 requests to get my room heated.
Very peaceful in the attic!

A nice hotel near the centre of Newcastle. The outside and lobby has kept it's heritage style, however the rest of the hotel has been updated.
The room was very large and very modern. Large spacious bathroom with the latest conveniences.
The kitchen facilities were modern and clean, just like the rest of the room.
It really was like a home away from home.
Only two minor issues, one being the noisy from the street below. Unfortunately we stayed on a Saturday night, and it was a bit rowdy down below. Double or triple window glazing would have helped. The other issue was the steps from the street to the lobby. It was a bit hard to drag two heavy suitcases up the steps.
Overall though, it is a great hotel with lots of charm and character near the centre of Newcastle.
