The area surronding the house and outdoor furniture were not in keeping with the clean condition found inside of the residence. Only one toilet can be used which is within a small bathroom. "We hebben genoten van het huis. Goede voorzieningen en ruimte in overvloed. Ook het bed was prima. En de tuin...great! Omgeving heel mooi, zeker als je van wandelen houdt. "The gite was very well equipped and comfortable. Probably one of the best we have stayed in over many years. The surrounding countryside is variable, with flat plains , hills and lakes. If you are interested in Ww1 the preserved trenches in the area are the best I have seen. Verdun and Nancy, which are a short drive away, are both historical and picturesque."

We really liked the pool however it isn’t fenced which would have been good to know in advance. There is a local vineyard, restaurant and a supermarket nearby. "Superb property, best we have stayed in (out of six). Well equipped with everything and more you will need, plenty of plates, glasses, dishware and cookware. Proper oven. Do not be put off by the appearance from the street - the property is comfortable, spacious, peaceful and homely, with wonderful garden, terrace, and seating/relaxing areas. "If you don’t expect the Ritz after paying YMCA prices and judge this place on what you paid, then I couldn’t not give it 5 stars. Check in was easy, the room wasn’t the biggest but it had a large, clean and comfortable bed. The en suite was small but functional and without issue. Parking was free, always a bonus, and it had air conditioning, which was a godsend. I’ve stayed at much more expensive hotels this trip that didn’t. My only moan is why provide a coffee machine but no pods or even cups to make a coffee in? Surely, as a traveller, I’m not expected to travel with a selection of pods in the hope one might work in your machine and bring my own cup to drink it in? Other than that, all is good. "
