The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and you can hear a bit of noise - the walls are pretty thin but outside of that, it was great!

I was really surprised by The Market House. While walking in I didn't have a great feeling, my room was absolutely beautiful and the amenities were better than you'd get in a 5 star hotel. It was really fantastic! I will definitely be staying again.

Beautiful rooms - well designed and decorated - very characterful. Entrance to the ‘hotel’ part of the building is less appealing. Food options in the bar are limited - mostly heavy, fried food.

The room had lovely decor and a big size, with some nice touches such as the breakfast bag and herbal teas. Approaching the room was a little less glamorous up the staircase, but that’s just how the building is, and the view was of a building site opposite. There was no noise from outside, but as forewarned there was some noise from the bar below until 23:00. I would happily stay here again.

Disliked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities
The pub looked dirty, everything you touched felt sticky, it looked completely run down with no lift and 4 flights of stairs completely unacceptable for the older generation particularly as the staircase was dark, dirty and dingy in daytime, the bedroom was very clean though which was a good job otherwise we would have walked away, would I stay again, NO, would I recommend it, NO. This place is not a hotel it's a dirty dingy noisy drinking hole

Lovely room, comfy bed and powerful shower at a good price. No lift and room was on 2nd floor - not a problem for me, but if less mobile would be an issue. Unfortunately key didnt work for the outside door and there was a constant noise in the room as I returned in the evening which wasn't present on check-in. Manager was helpful and moved into another room. Would stay again though

Turbo shabby chic
An honest hotel located above a busy, loud bar not - somewhere for an early nighter but well worth the stay. Taking shabby chic to new heights the attention to the 'unfinished' decor is amazing keeping cleanliness at the forefront.
