Recreation Enthusiasts Getaway

Rent “Blind Jakes” a gem of a property and be inspired by the history and landscape that the legendary western artist Charlie Russell felt years ago. Located in the heart of the Little Belt Mountains (Lewis and Clark National Forest) across from Russell point, out the front gate, you will access hundreds of miles of maintained ATV, snowmobile and 4x4 trails. If fishing or hunting is on your agenda you’re in luck (hunting district 448). A stroll out the front door is the S. Fork of the Judith River where brook trout swim. Snowshoeing, fire pit, elk viewing, bird watching, swimming hole... it’s all here. This quaint 800 sq ft 1 bed, 1 bath cabin (sleeps 3) is well suited for any Montana adventurer(s).

Remote, charming , homey and memorable with incredible scenery and abundant wildlife. If hiking, inquire about the trail to “Window Rock” for a quick uphill hike to a pass through cave w stunning views of our valley. This is truly an epic area for outdoor adventurers or anyone who wants to relax in a very comfortable, well appointed, true Montanan cabin with lots of good feels. This property is security surveilled at the front and rear entrances.🙂

Spectacular and peaceful
I had the most special two weeks at Kimberly’s cabin, and I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. It is at the most beautiful location in a long and awe-inspiring valley, and the log cabin itself is both cozy/charming and modern with many special touches. It really is a treat. It is remote so no cell service nearby, be sure to download the map offline, and then when you arrive take that deep breath and marvel at the views and birdsong and stars. I worked remotely and the internet is speedy and consistent. I saw deer and elk and a marmot nearby on some excellent hikes, and a lot of bear signs. Host was so helpful. I feel lucky to have stayed here.

Luxurious little cabin in the woods
This cabin is very well maintained and beautifully decorated. It has a modern kitchen with a nice stovetop and oven a large deep kitchen sink and all the dishes and glasses you need. The bathroom is nice with a standard shower stall nicely upgraded with new faucets and shower head and sprayer. The laundry machines are front loader high end Samsungs. The bedroom has a large comfortable bed and the living area has a pull out bed as well and a very comfy full sized sofa. The house has a smart TV and high speed starlink internet which is really nice for watching Netflix or other streaming services (you must use your account). They also have a Nintendo Wii with games and plenty of dvd movies to watch. We really enjoyed the cabin and were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. Very nicely set up. Now the cabin is way in the forest so you won’t want to leave it unless necessary so it’s best to bring all the food you need. There is a full sized refrigerator to store perishables. We hiked to window rock but we saw many people using ATV vehicles and I imagine this would be a good place for that. The grounds are nice and quiet. The yard is fenced and maintained well with a nice fire pit for evenings. It’s a nice place to get away. Very peaceful and feels luxurious for a cabin. No marked trails in the area (that we found) but plenty of woods to explore. If you ask they will give you instructions on a hike to window rock which is a local unofficial gently used path with good view

Tucked Away Cabin With Everything You Need!
Our stay for an "ATV/get out of dodge week" in MT wilderness was perfect! This cozy cabin had SO many extras - maps, binoculars to glass the area, spices, toiletries, games, lawn chairs, cornhole, WIFI (yes, in the middle of the National Forest!). If you love the Belt Mountains but are too old to truly "rough" it, this is a no-brainer rental. Kim was easy to communicate with and has obviously put thought into what people need/want.

Loved this place!!!
We stayed here for three weeks and absolutely loved it. Connected with some locals for SXS rides (referred by host) and enjoyed sunrises and sunsets from the porch in an absolutely stunning location. Cabin is nicely appointed and stocked with a million little things you might forget. This is super handy because it takes a while to get anywhere - the location is remote. Get groceries and gas before you arrive! Cell phones didn't work but cabin had Wifi and that was super helpful. Would definately recommend to others who are looking for a chill, comfortable out-of-the-way spot where you can explore trails and/or leave the busyness behind.

Montana Hunting Trip
We couldnt of asked for a better set-up. The weather was great just not cold enough or lack of snow for the elk to cooperate. We will be back hopefully if successful with draw. The cabin has everything you could ask for. Life is a little better getting up from a warm bed than a cot in a tent. The host was spot on with all amentities. Thank you very much

Wonderful getaway/unplug!!
The cabin has all the necessary amenities but none of the outside distractions. There were several little touches that were special (like a bag of ice in the freezer, a wonderful assortment of spices, and comfortable outdoor chairs.) Everything felt like a home. It seemed that they cared about who stayed there with the instructions to "use what you need".

Beautiful Mountain Setting
Fantastic property! My husband and I stayed at the cabin with our dog for 9 days. It’s fenced in Montana-style, with wood posts and some barbed wire to make up for the big gaps but our pup understood (for the most part!) that it was a boundary. The front porch had views for days and it was so relaxing to sit there and watch nature, day or night. The inside is remodeled with updated appliances, solid surface countertops, durable floors, comfy bed… the pics, while accurate, don’t do it justice. There seems to be two RV hookups on side of the house (we didn’t have an RV so didn’t test them out) and ample space for RVs, tents, trailers, ORVs… an outdoor enthusiasts paradise! You can see a few cabins, and a small one has been built on the property adjacent to the cabin, but there was never anyone at them. There is a small community in the area but they are all super friendly and quiet. We hauled our Polaris General to the cabin and while there were a ton of trails for us to explore, we could have gone on many more with four wheelers or a trail width side by side. But the ones we could access were so much fun and had amazing views! If you like hiking, make sure to check out Daisy Narrows on the south end of the Little Belts about half an hour out of Harlowton! Worth the drive!

Fourth of July Fun
We booked this cabin as a place to spend the weekend of the 4th, to get out of town and enjoy the mountains. We immediately felt at home, thanks to the outstanding preparations made for us as well as the great kitchen for cooking, washer and dryer, and items for shower and personal use if we needed them. This cabin was stocked better than we kept our own cabin in years past ! There is a big yard where our dogs ran and played, and a porch where we could sit in our rocking chairs and watch younger families at play with their RV’s and tents, 4-wheelers, and dirt bikes. The cabin is very comfortable and pleasant for reading or napping if a rainstorm passes through. No internet or TV, just DVD’s…so prepare to have some time to enjoy yourselves without those other distractions. A great place to reset. We had a wonderful time. Thank you, Kimberly.

Incredible Property!
This was one of our favorite VRBOs ever! Check in was very simple and the owners were very easy to communicate with. This cabin is absolutely wonderful. It was small, but so cozy and inviting - we truly felt at home. Having no wifi or cell service may not be for everyone, and we were admittedly a little worried about it, but we learned very quickly that it didn’t matter one bit! They have a very easy to use screen share on their TV that can hook up to your cell phone or laptop to play downloaded movies or shows and they have a TON of DVDs there for your use. The family room has 3 super comfy couches, a good sized dining table, and a beautifully decorated kitchen with brand new modern appliances (including a convection oven and gas stove). The bed was very comfortable and we slept so well! The shower had great water pressure and the hot water never ran out. They even had a brand new high end washer and dryer with detergent, dryer sheets, etc. There was a hair dryer and extra shampoo, conditioner, and soap. The kitchen had a ton of spices, olives oil, butter, etc. The property is fenced in, which was very helpful with our dog, and is surrounded by Lewis and Clark National Forest with tons of hiking opportunities. We enjoyed wading in the beautiful river and exploring the national forest. We saw deer, elk, and even a brown bear! This property is so peaceful and beautiful, the best part was sitting in the rocking chairs outside, reading a book and enjoying the scenery. We hope to come back!

Off the grid
We had a wonderful time staying at Wayne and Kimberly’s cabin. Their directions were a huge help and made it a breeze to find the property. The cabin was cozy and comfortable for our family of three and well stocked with anything you could need. It was a great location for hiking and checking out the area, including great animal spotting (bear, elk and many mule deer). It was a truly peaceful location and such a perfect getaway to unplug without the distraction of our cell phones or wi-fi. Even without the modern comforts the cabin kept us entertained with tons of dvds and games on a rainy day spent indoors. We can’t wait to stay here again!

Fantastic Spot
We love this cabin and its location. It is super comfortable and decorated perfectly. The luv seat camp chair was the perfect way to enjoy the fire pit while watching the sun go down. We were lucky enough to see all sorts of cool birds every morning and loads of mule deer every evening. We even had a moose and her calf hang out across the road one evening. Kimberly was super responsive and left a nice note for us. The cabin has everything we could have needed - also the bath towels smell amazing😊 We certainly plan to rent this place again.
