"Stayed in the Deluxe Villa, Lanai in April 2023 and paid $577 US for one night. This was their premium suite. The space was impressive at nearly 2,000 sq ft. Had an old-world feel. The view from the outdoor pool area was magnificent. But anyplace with a balcony that high up would have magnificent views. So no points there really. While impressed with the size of the space, I was very disappointed with simple comforts you would expect for paying nearly $600 for one night and quite upset...

"This was an over-night stay location for our multi-day road trip. But Taliwen B&B was so nice that we will probably use it as a place to stay for our future activities in the area. The B&B is spacious and comfortable, The host is friendly and curteous. Love it!"

"Room is quite small so we couldn’t really open up our luggage. They only provide one type of wash for use on both hair and body. Be sure to bring your own hair shampoo and conditioner. Breakfast is very basic and we actually skip it. Staff is friendly. We stayed one night at the accommodation right next to it called Top Cloud. We think it is more value for money as the room is better and breakfast is better. "

"Location Hotel is located very near to Cingjing farm. . The view outside the hotel is great and 7-11 is available in front of the hotel (I believe it’s open 24/7) which is very helpful. Hotel. It’s a basic hotel, one of the staffs speaks English. Rooms are good with coffee powder and 4 bottles of water that they top up everyday. There is no coffee Mac though, you have to get the water from common dispenser to make coffee. There is no lift but I don’t think it was a problem for me as our room...

"Very Zen ambience. Lots of rules though. No rules that impacted my stay but some of the rules were strange. Such as if you are drinking and vomit on the bed you pay extra for cleaning. It never occurred to me that this was a hotel issue. Luckily I don’t over indulge and fortunately I didn’t get the flu and get sick in bed so it was a non issue. "Rooms are big but dusty. Bigger rooms have air-conditioning but smaller rooms do not have air-conditioning, and rely on the cool air in the evening. Therefore have to open windows. Bath tub available, but each guest is provided with only a small packet of shower gel/shampoo packet. So you can only take 1 shower a day, unless you bring along your own shower gel/shapoo. Breakfast was great if you like asian food. Coin-operated laundry is available, but not commercial types. Did not see any dryer...

"This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, that it's in Taiwan, where expectations of hotels is low makes that even more impressive! The hotel itself is on is Ita Thao side of Sun Moon lake, which in my opinion is the better side. We didn't like the Main side as much. You step out the door pretty much onto the main road with all the street food vendors for snacks/breakfast/lunch/dinner. As they shut up by 7pm it doesn't disturb you in the evening. The food on the road is great and very cheap. The staff were fantastic and super helpful with great english. The hotel had a lovely bar you could sit in and get a beer or a cocktail in the evening. The executive club on the roof had incredible views of the lake and lovely drink and food options. Our room was one of the best and most high tech rooms I have ever stayed in as well as super clean. Free mini bar too. The hot and cold spring tubs we used every day and I even started to enjoy the cold tub! The only complaint would be that the room was so high tech with the lights and curtains that it was hard to work out which light switches did what and there was no setting to just have a single side lamp on for reading. The gym had really good new Matrix kit, but I would have preferred not to be able to hear the yells from the Sports bar side while working out as it felt a bit intimidating as well as annoying. A more robust soundproofed partition would be better. Overall and excellent hotel though."
