"The little village of Agyroupolis where Arcus is located is very quiet and charming. It got a great local feel of Greek countryside and many friendly locals, well used to tourists dropping by, to see the historical places they offer. "Positives: The hotel is quite nicely situated, outside Rethymno, but with a bus station just in front. It is having direct access to the beach. Its layout is nice, with its small buildings with alleys in between. "Hotel about 1km out of the old centre of town. Hotel is on many levels and has a large swimming pool and several other small ones. Stayed in a superior room with seaview (over the tops of the buildings in front). Room was a nice size although shower room quite small. Tea and coffee making facilities in room including a fridge. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast options are excellent with a wide choice. We used hotel as a base for touring but if you stayed on site plenty to keep you occupied. Car parking is chargeable but the road at the back between the hotel and the 5 star Minos ambassador is quiet, safe and free! There is a fixed menu in the evening for 19€ but if you don’t fancy that there are plenty of good dining options locally especially along the front. There is a supermarket less than 200yds away. I would recommend this hotel."
