Nestled in old world Italy, surrounded by quaint countryside towns, we found the area to be iconically surreal. Although our trip was marred with climactic tragedy, the one bright spot of our travel through the Emilia Romagna was staying in the beautiful hilltop villa of Le Orchidee. "This is quaintly described as a cottage on a hill but it was actually a very large villa in lovely grounds, with the most fantastic big pool with a glorious view, close to Pesaro and the motorway network, yet felt wonderfully remote! Lots of room for 10 (we were 6) and very secure and private with excellent air conditioning."

"The owners were friendly and welcoming and offered great advice and help. The property was in a very good condition with stunning views from the lower veranda and pool area. We were very happy with our stay, the only thing to catch us out is that we didn’t realise there was no internal access between the upper flat and the lower flat, which resulted in us only benefiting from the downstairs area as there was only 5 of us. But overall we were very happy here."

"Magnificent!!!! Palazzo Serre, in San Leo, is absolutely stunning. The views from the home are incredible of the rolling hills and the various mountain tops. As for the interior, the furniture and amenities are plenty and the beds are extremely comfortable. Also, it was so nice to have a bathroom attached to each bedroom which provided for great privacy. The 11 of us really enjoyed our time at the house and we look forward to returning next year to enjoy the new pool."
