Cosy Cottage with stunning views

Cosy cottage set in the heart of Arkengarthdale just 3 miles from the popular village of Reeth and neighbouring Swaledale. The property has been recently refurbished to a high standard and now offers very comfortable accommodation with delightful views and walks available from the door.

The property comprises of;
Ground Floor: Open plan living, kitchen and dining area with underfloor heating throughout. The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven, ceramic hob, slimline dishwasher, fridge and microwave as well as a steamer and slow cooker. The living area has a log burner, TV with freesat, DVD player and CD player.
Bathroom with under floor heating, freestanding Victoriian style bath with shower over, toilet, sink and heated towel rail.
Bedroom with king size bed. French doors to gravelled patio area.
Upstairs: Large bedroom with zip and link bed. This can be made up either as a super king size, or two single beds. (Please specify preference when booking). En-suite wet room with under floor heating and walk in shower. Walk in cupboard housing washing machine . tumble dryer and boiler.

Perfect cottage
Lovely cottage in an excellent position overlooking stunning countryside. Quiet and relaxing whilst being close to the CB hotel/pub and a short drive from the village of Reeth. The cottage is very comfortable, clean and welcoming.

Amazing short break
First time staying here and hopefully not our last. We fell in love with this cottage. Very peaceful location with only the sheep, birds and rabbits oh and a couple of neighbours. A little tricky to find at first as you have to access it through the farm but thats part of its charm. Plenty to do in the surrounding area as long as you drive, and plenty of walks from the door step. Will definitely return.

Heaven in the dales
We absolutely loved our stay. We were there for our 45th anniversary and there could not have been a better place on the planet. We woke up every morning to beautiful scenery, to sheep, to sun, to snow, to just incredible beauty. The home was absolutely perfect and our interactions with the owners and the housekeeper couldn’t have been better. We loved loved loved our stay.

The property was clean & cozy. Well equipped mostly but small things like Baco foil were missing. No welcome pack whatsoever, which i have never experienced in 20 years of cottage holidays. Just a starter of Tea & Coffee would be nice. The bedrooms were lovely & spacious with wonderful views. A lovely location with plenty of places to eat nearby. Just be aware that there are 2 gates to open between the cottage & the road. All in all, a lovely week

Beautiful cottage in stunning location
We loved the cottage. The directions and instructions were spot on and stress free. The location is outstanding and the whole place had a very clam and peaceful feeling. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable. Considering the weather it was also very warm and cosy. Only negative was the location when the fog got so thick it made driving almost impossible. Would love to return but will make it earlier in the year

Excellent stay and location.
To look out of the window and just see hills,sheep and grouse was brilliant.Property was excellent.We were 2 couples,it was ideal having 2 bathrooms.Kitchen well equipped. Only suggestion would be,updating the information in the welcome folder about the property and recycling. Am keen to return.Fabulous for walking and relaxing. .

Great Holiday at Lovely Cottage
We loved this ex-miner's cottage which has been beautifully refurbished in a lovely if fairly remote area in the Yorkshire Dales. Lots of wildlife to watch too, a variety of small birds, squirrels and rabbits to be seen from the house, and sheep roam freely at the roadsides.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The cottage is perfectly situated for walking holidays. The views were stunning! It was lovely to watch the wild birds feeding at the feeders in the mornings, which was a nice touch! The cottage was perfectly adequate but could do with a little updating. A very enjoyable holiday!

Beautiful cottage in amazing scenic location
We loved our stay at Swallowdale cottage. It is in the most amazing scenic and tranquil location. The cottage is beautiful, comfortable with everything you need. We were there in summer but with its underfloor heating and wood burner I imagine it would be cozy in winter. Very comfie beds!! Wifi fine- we had three streaming Netflix. A short drive from Reeth where there’s a small shop and a bakery.

Beautiful cottage in a stunning location
We loved our stay at 1 Swallowholm Cottage. A little confused when we arrived because, being Townies, we couldn’t quite believe the access to our cottage was through a gate, down a rubble track through a field of sheep, round a hairpin bend and through another gate! However, the location was stunning and the cottage beautifully decorated and furnished. We took an Amazon Firestick with us which we plugged into the TV to access Prime video, Netflix etc. For the most part, we were able to watch what we wanted, but the WiFi was quite patchy at times, so we just had to be patient and understand it was a miracle there was any WiFi at all! Saying that, don’t expect to get a phone signal, but a landline is provided for emergency contact. The walks in the local area are stunning…we downloaded OS maps on our phone, which proved invaluable when navigating fairly untrodden paths. The CB Inn is just half a mile away and serves really delicious food - but book early to avoid disappointment. It is also dog friendly, as are most pubs in the area. Reeth is a lovely village and worth a visit. We also had lots of fun wild swimming in Aysgarth Falls and jumping off the waterfall at Wain Wath Force! We loved our stay and would return without hesitation.

Lovely rural retreat!
The cottage was excellent although could of benefited from some extra cleaning (cobwebs, dust under beds etc) Fabulous views our only disappointment was the garden area wasn’t enclosed or private making it slightly more difficult for dog owners. Would definitely return but only in the summer months due to the extreme remoteness although a real escape for every day life.

Our second stay here and with 34 years experience of visiting the Dales cannot fault the place, cottage has everything you require and location is perfect for exploring Arkengarthdale and to top it off you have the CB Inn a very short walk away which serves the most amazing food.
