This is a beautiful boutique hotel. As you walk in the staff greets you with a warm smile and there is complimentary tea and coffee. The rooms were beautiful and it was in walking distance to some great restaurants. This is my new hotel of choice when I am in downtown Richmond!

As we told the staff when we left, there were a number of issues with our room. 1- the door to the room was left propped open when we arrived. This seemed like a security issue, though the room was safe when we came in 2- the room was very cold, 68 ° by the thermostat. I turned up the heat, but the room never heated up 3- in the middle of the night my wife got cold and looked for a spare blanket. There was none. We could have called down, but we were dead tired and it was after midnight 3- my wife emerged from the shower and only then noticed we only had hand towels! Again, could have called down, but she was already soaking wet. 4- the Keurig coffee maker did not work. 5- the tv remote had no volume control. We couldn’t hear the sound. A shame.

Fine old historic hotel with comfy beds but lots of inconveniences. Heating in our room didn’t work and stayed at 62 despite 2 fix-it calls - no extra blankets. Small bathroom with toilet up against the wall, no grab bars, trickling shower. Tried to get a drink in bar before going out to dinner, cancelled the order after waiting a half hour. Parking is a couple blocks away and expensive. Not returning to the Berkeley.

We travel to Richmond every year on this weekend and this is our second time in this hotel. We love how convenient it is and on top of that it is a nice venue, people is nice and attentive, the property has a classic style but the rooms are being updated. We love that our room had vinyl floors instead of carpet. Restaurant in now open for business.

The Berkeley Hotel was such a pleasant surprise! It is lovely and has beautiful, spacious rooms. Very clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend and I would definitely stay there again!!

I had an amazing stay in this beautiful historic building that was just a short walk from the trail and close to numerous restaurants and attractions. My evening was truly wonderful, and the check-in, check-out, and parking processes were all very easy.

Nice hotel in great neighborhood. Could use a spa/pool and some complimentary b-fast items. Night male desk clerk told me zero about any hotel amenities, nor restaurant hours, and when I asked about any late late food options upon my late arrival, he was unwilling to share anything and told me to google. So this took me awhile, since unfamiliar with area. And then had to seek out other staff members in the morning for any info on the hotel. The women on day crew (met a desk manager and a housekeeper supervisor) are excellent! I would replace the night guy with someone who cares.

Starlet and Noah at the front desk were very helpful, and everyone else I met there was friendly and seemed happy. The area was cool and overnight garage parking nearby was affordable and safe. Even traveling alone I felt safe and comfortable in Richmond!

We traveled to Richmond for Christmas and picked the Berkeley for uniqueness & location. We were very pleased with the accommodations. The staff was OK, but not extremely accommodating. The listing on Expedia advertised Free Parking, however, valet was $32/nt and self-parking was $15-25 depending on the parking deck. 2 hr free parking is available around the hotel, but that's not what I consider free parking. We spent over $100 on parking during the 4 nights we were there. It was also a disappointing that complimentary coffee was only available during the AM and not throughout the day, as we opted to sleep late for our holiday. We were also informed at check-in that our room would be cleaned after our 4-night stay, but to call the front desk if we needed anything. We made do with what we had, as there were rarely cleaning carts on our floor. Overall, great location & nice property. Staff could have been more customer-friendly. Valet staff was very personable.

Terrific small boutique hotel right in the middle of a great downtown neighborhood. Really helpful and friendly staff and very good restaurant on premises. An excellent alternative to the big newer places around it.
