"Lovely hotel in a quiet area. Easy transport links to Freiburg and Basel with the buses and trains. 6 of us travelled and so we had 3 rooms, all were clean and spacious. The lady working on reception was amazingly helpful and we can't thank her enough for her warm welcome and advice. Breakfast was typical of German hotels and well received by all - the coffee especialy was really good."

"We had actually booked the Lowen Hotel in Staufen, but were moved to the Goethe because they said they wouldn't be able to serve breakfast at the Lowen due to a staffing issue. Was disappointing as we were really looking forward to staying there. The Goethe is ok. A bit tired and old fashioned looking. Rooms are clean & the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was ok, but you cannot choose your cheese & meats, they bring you a platter. We would have preferred to choose our own. Not great quality bread...
