This is a beautiful restored hostel, but as the same with hostel average cleanliness is not a priority even if you are in a private room. Specialy my room had a vintage door not sealing the frame, allowing all kind of mosquitoes get in to the room, not a pleasant night!

Amazing location and wonderful breakfast. A gem away from the buzz and stress of the city that is also within walking distance from the Cosme Velho station heading to Christ the redeemer. Check-in was extremely slow - it took us more than one hour to get our room - but I guess it was due to the high season situation. I would definitely stay here again! Totally recommend it.

The building itself is a very interesting piece of historic architecture that has been modernized to house this hotel/hostel-complex. I especially loved the breakfast buffet, close to the pool area which invites you to chill during the day but you can also get some remote-work done in the quiet areas with excellent wifi. Last nut not least, the staff is very welcoming and helpful! It's been an absolute pleasure! Muito obrigado!

Love the place, don’t love the lack of cleaning
I extended my stay because I really like the breakfast and the location is beautiful. But maintenance and cleaning is bad. We need to go to the reception to ask if someone can empty the toilet bins or for new toilet paper. They didn't properly clean the room since at least Tuesday. One of the locks of the shower is broken so people smash the door to close it, which is quit annoying when you’re trying to sleep or still asleep. But the shower with a functioning lock has low water pressure due of the built up chalk in the shower head. So.. The airconditioning is not clean so I've caught a cold (nasal congestion and a sore throat) after the first night. Really wished there was a possibility to open a window with all the deodrant and other spray products my roommates use.

No meio da floresta, no pé do bondinho pra subir até o Corcovado, o Joe é Joe e uma Oasis de paz. Provalmente conceptualisado por gerentes jovens pra clientes jovens (tem dormitórios e suítes), o único babado pode ser o barulho da música do lugar, esp qd tem uma locação privativa duma parte do lugar que é bastante enorme (possível se perder!). Tem Tmb três piscinas, uma gigante, porém a água no fim da tarde pode ser quente demais, melhor ir no inverno ou depois dum grande chuva. Tem grande espaços também pra tomar o café, se afogar na leitura, discutir num rede com amigos. Imperdivel Tmb em relação benefícios custos.

Fica aos pés do Cristo redentor, dá para ir a pé até a estação do trem ou vans, uma região muito acessível aos pontos turísticos e o local da hospedagem maravilhoso, muita natureza em volta e o atendimento muito solicito.
