Barra is a little further away from the main attractions of Rio however, it is extremely clean and safe and close to huge malls where there are great restaurants and you can walk around for exercise

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We had issues with the room initially and the supervisor quickly resolved and was very friendly. The whole staff was great, especially Romario, who was very helpful throughout our entire stay. There are nice shops and restaurants within walking distance. The breakfast was amazing. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Brazil.

The staff were great, although limited English. Still, they were all very helpful. The breakfast was also full of choices. My only critique is the location. Rio seems to have a love for the word Tijuca. Barra Tijuca is quite a bit away for major attractions so be aware that you'll be taking Uber quite a bit, however to balance this, the atmosphere is calmer, the beach is less busy and the local shops are cheaper

Everybody was very helpful and very nice. The breakfast buffet had the same thing everyday and it was very average as an American they didn't have any breakfast stuff I like. My biggest complaint is the room is so small, they have no dresser drawers, and you're basically living out your suitcase or stuff on table, chair, nightstand, and the shelf in front of the TV

Clean hotel in safe area. Staff is nice, speaks some English. The on-site restaurant has quite good food. However, it is far from most attractions such as Copacabana, Ipanema beach, Christ the Redeemer , Sugarloaf…Even though Uber is cheap, the traffic is very heavy so it takes about 1 to 1.5 hour each way to go to the attractions. If you like less crowded beaches such as Pepe beach, this hotel is perfect. But if you like beaches with more activities like Ipanema or Copacabana you’d be better off staying in Ipanema or Copacabana area.
