Modern Beachfront Casita with Dock and pool ON THE BEACH

This unit is the first floor/ground level of the house. It has it's own entrance with a screened in lanai and open covered patio facing the beach. Large comfortable space has breathtaking ocean views, with access to the beach and a community pool.

This 2 bedroom casita sleeps 6 and has everything to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. A fully equipped kitchen, TV, free wifi, and A/C, plus full size washer dryer. There are SUP boards and kayaks for rent. This property has easy access to transportation, and it is close to the airport, West End, West Bay Beach and grocery stores.

The property is unique to Roatan. Just off the main road to a private beach area that is part of the Roatan Marine Park preserve. The reef system parallels the white sand beach of Sandy Bay. A safe and calm area to swim and explore the waters abundant with tropical fish and corals. This is a quiet tranquil area without high end hotels and condos but close to the tourist meccas.

The quiet sandy beach includes a private 300 ft. long pier accessible only by the small Sundancer community. The pier has an upper deck for sunning, and a shaded palapa over the water.

Just off Sundancer's Pier to the right is a natural deep water channel that allows larger sea life to come and go on the reef. Often seen are large squads of squid, eagle rays, turtles, huge grouper and large parrot fish. This natural opening in the reef also makes it easy for boats to pick you up for fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling and touring.

Property is conveniently located in upper Sandy Bay, with grocery stores just 5 minutes away. West End is about a 6 minute taxi ride headed West. The airport is a 10 – 15 minute ride away. The long Sandy Bay Beach stretch offers a variety of Roatan Island activities. The Salty Mango restaurant is right next door, to the east, and Lawson’s Rock is next door to the west, with a morning café, and restaurant. Anthony’s Key Resort is 1 mile to the west, with dolphin encounters, restaurant, plus a medical facility, offering COVID testing. You can rent a car or scooter to explore the island as well.

This beach has some of the best snorkeling on the island. you will see dive boats that take tourists out to the reef that you can swim to. We look forward to hosting you!

Wonderful family trip
We had a great time in roatan, we had a little trouble finding our house for the week but I found the grounds keeping who called Vanessa the property manager and had him show me the way, then she came about an hour later to make sure we got in ok and give us more water since she was leaving out of town for the weekend, we exchanged Facebooks in case we needed to get a hold of her and sure enough I couldn't find the broom and dust also we needed life vest, she was able to tell me where to find all cleaning tools and had her husband drop off the life vest the next morning, the grounds keepers kept the beach and surrounding area clean and beautiful, and Angel the night security guard we had was wonderful to talk to he brought our girls fruits to try and showed them fish he caught off the dock, we felt safe and comfortable there and can't wait to go again, we'll definitely rent from Conrad again he was helpful and responded quickly. Thank you again for the wonderful stay at your beautiful beach home next we will want to still at least 2 weeks

A Great Place to Relax
This casita provided a comfortable, quiet, relaxing place to stay. The porch and the dock both offer a nice place to read a book or watch the ocean. If you fill the hummingbird feeder with sugar water, it will be busy with numerous hummingbirds. The host and property manager communicate well and are very responsive. The kitchen is reasonably equipped and together with the grill, cooking is pretty easy. A guy comes by to sell fish and seafood. Since we did not rent a car, we had our shuttle stop at Eldons supermarket on the way from the airport. There wasn't much in the way of groceries or restaurants close within walking distance. (There is a gas station/convenience store less than 10 mins walk - they have mostly snacks and drinks, etc. but they also sell prepared foods, and the baleadas arecheap and quite good.) A taxi to West End is about $3 per person, or there is a local route that vans drive that are a bit cheaper ($2 to West End). Just stand by the road, someone will stop. The snorkeling at the reef was quite good. It's about a 10 min swim to get there. You have to swim across the "channel" that boats use, but traffic is pretty rare. The swim to the reef is worth the effort. There is also a dive operation just a short walk up the beach. They also do snorkel excursions. Overall, a low-key, no-frills, comfortable place to stay.

Beautiful location but it was not a breeze.
The location was great, it was nice to walk out the door and snorkle. Fact. However, I would stay elsewhere. Vanessa was great. The owner, not so much. He was confrontational and defensive to say the least. Whenever I communicated with him, it felt as if he was talking down to me. Minimal necessities were lacking. No sponge to do dishes, no broom to sweep up. We stayed 10 days on the beach and had no easy way of cleaning. The AC in the kitchen and bedroom leak. The silverware and plates were dirty. I pulled out spoons that looked like they had gobs of crisco on them. The screen on the deck was completely torn. Vanessa did get it fixed for us quickly. However, when we first arrived and asked for the screen to be addressed, we were told the owner doesn't want to fix it when he has guests above us. We were told the day before we arrived the pool was closed. They did get that reopened halfway through our trip. The last day it rained and we had hundreds of bugs in the unit that night which is good, I guess, for the gecko living in the kitchen. For us, not so good. We did not sign up for a pet gecko. This is the only VRBO I have stayed at that did not have a guest book to leave a note. To me, that says the owner doesn't care. Why wouldn't you want your guests to be able to write about their experience and read others. Thanks again to Vanessa for doing everything she could to assure we had a nice stay.

A relaxing escape with the family
We had a wonderful 3 weeks in Roatan at this beachfront locale. Sunsets were spectacular! Everything was as described and comfortable with all we needed to live on for our long stay. The BBQ was a necessity for us as we enjoyed grilling the fish provided by the local fish monger. We thoroughly enjoyed being on the ocean and were snorkeling or swimming each and every day. The snorkeling is a short swim offshore and recommended - remember to bring a safety float. Conrad and Maritza were helpful and responsive if any issues came up. The island of Roatan is still in need of much improvement with its infrastructure but power outages are fewer than in the past and local taxis are abundant and of reasonable cost (best to use Lempiras to get to Eldon's Grocery store etc). Hopefully when we return there will be some sidewalks in place as walking beside the road here is not safe. A few minor fixes to the Lanai screen and a number of the doors would be advised. Also, a comfy lounge chair on the deck would have been a perfect addition. Overall a great chill holiday.

Beautiful Oceanfront Property - Sandy Bay, Roatan
We stayed for the month of February 2024 in this beautiful ocean front property. The house has the best view in the Sundancer Community in Sandy Bay. It was exactly as described, clean with everything you needed for any length of stay. All appliances clean and in great working condition. This is the first home we stayed at with a bbq and now it is a must have for our next stay - so convenient. Beds and pillows were comfortable, water pressure was perfect and having both a screened in area and open deck area to sit and relax - fantastic. It was great opening up the doors and having the ocean breeze come in. Every morning (except Sundays) grounds keepers were raking the beach and cleaning up the seagrass, the grounds in this community are well maintained. It was fantastic being able to swim out to the reef from a private dock which we did quite often. Conrad was incredible! He was very accommodating and very quick to respond to any questions that we had. He gave us recommendations on restaurants to eat and suggestions on places to visit during our stay, little gems that he thought we may enjoy. Conrad - thank you so much for making our stay at your beautiful home an unforgettable experience. We loved how you took the time to share your local knowledge with us - it truly enhanced our stay. We definitely will be back! Cindy & Bob l’Ami

Great week in January
We had an absolutely wonderful week. The unit is in the best location in the community. Literally right on the beach and right at the dock. It is not actually a part of the Sun Dancer community but has use of their pool. I believe the dock belongs to the unit owner and is shared with Sun dancer. They actually have beach grooming every morning, but it was really only needed the day after we had a bit of a storm. Loved the island. This is more of an old-Caribbean style island. Pretty laid back. Liked it better than the main-stream islands (have been to Aruba, Curacau, St Lucia,Cayman - and loved them all but this is the first island that all of us said we would return to any time. Prices are more reasonable than the other islands. Only a couple restaurants within walking distance, but there is a vast array of restaurants a short distance in West End - a great location. Sandy beach is great but there is grass sea grass and wading is not great. But no worries - there is a swim platform on the dock and great snorkeling 100 yards out from the end of the dock. Great shallow reef and lots of fish right there. Unit is clean and well furnished and supplied. Luke was very helpful. Great deck - half screened with a grill. We are pretty likely to return in a year or two. And next time we may use the grill.

Great getaway
Stayed from the 10th-15th of January, had a blast. Construction was going on next door, but it was virtually unnoticeable and many workers smiled and waved as we passed. Casita is no frills but comfortable and right on the beach-- a great location to sit on porch for coffee and watch the ocean. The dock is also great to hang out on in a hammock or to swim out to the reef. The reef is a fairly long swim but if you are an average or above snorkeler you should have little problem getting out there. Very decent snorkeling overall, many parrotfish/ reef fish, lobsters, eels and the like. Luke the property manager set up a sunset cruise for us that turned out to be great fun. Would definitely recommend, distance to West End is maybe 10" car ride or so, which we found quite acceptable for the peace and quiet obtained. Thanks!

Wonderful Stay
This property is in a great location. The weather was cloudy and very windy much of the time we were there so not much beach time. But lying in the hammocks with a good book was awesome. Luke was very attentive and responsive to our needs. I would definitely stay here again. As per other reviews there was a slight sewer smell once in awhile. All of the appliances worked well, the beds were comfortable and clean. We went to Coconuts a few times to eat and enjoy the staff there. Thank you Luke and Conrad!!

Great place to stay while visiting Roatan
We booked this property because it was centrally located and right on the beach. Lodging was clean with good amenities and the property was nice to explore. Easy to find right off the main road with easy access to explore the island. Snorkeling was pretty good right off the dock. We’d definitely come back again if we find ourselves returning to Roatan.

Enjoyed our stay. Very thankful for property mngr and arranging a car for us; you will definitely need a vehicle to stay here. Assumed we could swim out from the shore as well but found out you can not due to turtle grasses. That was a bummer with having small kids with us but jumping off the dock was fun. Definitely recommend bringing snorkel equipment.

Beautiful location, beautiful place , beautiful view. I have mark this place as the best home rental I every been to. Owner and property manager were very helpful and amazing. Secluded community not too far from everything. You could hangout at the beach, swim in the pool, sun bath on the dock, fish, and snorkel, go to multiple restaurants within short walking distance from the rental. Roatan
I thought it was in a good location as we rented a car so we could go whenever we wanted. The rental was in a quiet area but the west end was close enough to have fun. It was nice to have the big grocery store on the island close as well. We rented a kayak from Conrad and paddled out to the reef and snorkeled most days. The snorkeling was awesome. The only thing I would definitely recommend is to buy some bright orange buoy so boats can see you. There is a lot of boat traffic that could be a problem if they don’t see you. The air condition was good and the washer/dryer being on site was very convenient. The only thing I didn’t love with the rental was the plastic chairs on the porch. It would be nice to sit out there in something more comfortable. There was also open areas in the screen porch which made it easy for bugs to get in. Overall we had a great vacation

Great Roatan Casita Stay
Property description and pictures were very accurate. Casita was well equipped, clean and as described. Beds were comfy. Bath towels and beach towels were provided and in good shape. Kitchen appliances were all new and great, including a blender. Only thing missing is wine glasses. Was nice having enough jugs of water provided for our stay. Had a minor issue with the door lock and property manager responded and resolved quickly. Bathroom is older but sufficient, could use a new showerhead. Wifi was quick. Property grounds were well maintained, pool was clean. Beach is lovely, but fairly weedy, though off end of dock is much better. Could use some lounge chairs for the beach/dock. Some noise from the upstairs visitors (5 teens in that party), however not a deal breaker and property manager did ask them to be mindful of downstairs renters (us). Property owner happened to be on site while we were there, he is very nice and all communication with him before and during stay was good. Overall a great stay at a great casita. thanks again!!

Nice place on the beach
We had a great stay overall. House was comfortable and right on he beach with a nice view from the porch and dock to swim off of and watch the sunsets. The manager was responsive to any issue we had and very nice. They were able to diminish the strong sewer odor from the septic located right off the porch. The smell diminishes the enjoyment of the porch for sure. The owner also had workman at the unit upstairs starting a 7:30 in the morning for several days we were there. It would have been nice to be notified of this and coordinated for days we where away instead of days we planed to be at the house or days the home was empty. It was quite loud. There are several restaurants within walking distance and a good dive shop just a few minute walk up the beach. The Circle K actually has decent inexpensive food.

Mixed Review
Upsides: The property is on the beach and has a beautiful view of the ocean with access to a shared pool and dock. The location is not close to West Bay or West End so you should arrange for some kind of taxi service to visit areas with restaurants/nightlife. Downsides: The owner of the property is not the person who is on site. We had an issue with the SUPs and kayaks, which are available for rent but at pretty steep prices and payment is due up front. We ended up not being able to use them because the water is not as calm as other locations on the island, and due to the wind. It was clear that using the rentals was unsafe after our initial go. Our on-site host did not inform us of the risks with the wind and seemed unconcerned by our negative experience. When we asked for a partial refund on day three due to the water conditions we were rebuffed and the owner was unresponsive. The life preservers offered with rentals are blue and black and cannot be seen by boats, beware if you choose to use them in open water or to swim to the reef. Also, three people who used the life preservers in the water as floats had large patches of bites on their legs. The host, again, was defensive and unconcerned when we brought this up to him. There is a distinct sewage smell on the property--something to note if you're sensitive to smells. The home doesn’t include any written instructions so you must rely on the host to share information.

10 steps from dock! Beautiful sunsets and constant views of the water! Easy to communicate with host, Luke and people passing by. Meeting each night with our community to discuss the days snorkeling and watch sunset was fantastic! Linda and Rick were amazing at setting up 8:00 snorkeling and making sure we knew where to go and keeping us safe from boats. Everyone staying in our area was very kind and shared a love of the sea. Suggestions: Lounge chairs would have been nice and suggestions to deal with sand fleas. Signage to find place (could have been due to road construction) would be helpful. Will soon need a new water cooler! Overall very pleased with our first visit to Roatan and we will return! BEST SNORKELING EVER!

Fantastic Beachfront Location - we will be back!
Watch the sun light up the ocean with your morning coffee in near silence on the deck and watch it set on the dock with the new friends you just met that now feel like family. Welcome to Sundancers and this beachfront casita in particular. Walk down the sandy footpath past the other units that resemble tree houses nestled in a tropical garden. Your new home is right on the beach with nothing to block your view and can be enjoyed from both an open air and a fully screened deck. We researched the island fairly extensively before we came down and had a list of things we wanted to do while we were there. We rarely left the property. All the appliances in the kitchen were pretty new. We like to cook so we made most of our meals and ate them outside on the deck. The kitchen has a microwave, a toaster oven and a standard oven so you can cook or heat up anything. We used both bedrooms; both were clean and the beds fine. Both have air conditioning which we used on occasion but rarely had it on in the common area. The living room is comfortable and all the windows allow for a nice cross breeze in the afternoon when you are done with the sun. The bathroom was also clean and worked just fine for us. We often used the outdoor shower to rinse off after a snorkel and didn’t bother with an indoor shower every day. We had a handful of snorkeling sites on our list but after seeing the reef out in front of the house we only ended up leaving the property twice to snorkel. It’s a bit of a swim out to the reef but so worth it with both an inner and outer reef to explore, walls that drop a good 60 feet and nice large fish to discover. We saw spotted eagle rays and/or stingrays nearly every time. Turtles, cuttlefish, squid, barracuda, moray eel, so many reef fish and coral it’s like an aquarium and we’ve snorkeled many places. We left once to explore West Bay, worth it because it's so different, and once on Bay Island Adventures out to Pigeon Cay, ABSOLUTELY worth it if you can spare the coin. Nurse sharks, a shipwreck, a deserted island and clear clear water are the draws here. Also a fresh lobster lunch and open bar. Both Conrad and Luke were extremely responsive and we enjoyed both of them and their advice on the island. We had a lovely stay and are already booking it again for 2024!
