"Beautiful and private farm house, lovely countryside scenery, good location. Anything you want to visit in Exmoor/Devon is no more than half hour drive away. Well equipped kitchen, and all necessary cleaning products and all necessary toiletries provided, so you don't have to run to the shops immediately. Very friendly and respectful host. Do check out the nearest pub, called the Black Venus! Amazing 5* restaurant quality meals! I'd go back there just to eat there again. We had an amazing time...

Go back in time and stay at a family owned Hotel

"I have not stayed here for years and was surprised to see that its still a Brend Hotel ( family hotel). I went for breakfast and it was a traditional waiter service breakfast eg you are shown to a table, another waiter takes your order, you choose the items you want and its freshly cooked ( no food sitting under a heated light)"

"I found The Royal & Fortescue to be a lovely comfortable place to stay in the centre of Barnstaple very close to all amenities including the bus station which was so handy for getting to other near by attractions. The hotel is very clean and welcoming. We had a really nice relaxing stay and if in Barnstaple again would be more than happy to stay again."

Holland Hall very good value.

"The rooms we had were a big step above the student rooms we had back in the 1980's although they could benefit from better ventilation in hot weather. The fact they had ensuite facilities and lifts helped greatly. The breakfast was very good indeed and the staff very professional and friendly."
