Studio With Uninterrupted Views Of Romney Marsh. Visit Rye Hythe and Canterbury

The Shed stands in the garden of the listed Old Oak, once the smuggling pub of Bonnington. The Shed has its own garden space, table and chairs and BBQ. Built in 2012 to the highest specifications and in traditional style it offers an ideal base for walking and exploration. There is one bedroom with a king size bed, and a kitchen living room which is equipped with a dishwasher, cooker and fridge, TV and WiFi and prettily and individually designed for total comfort. Built for our far flung family to stay in when in England - we would love to share it with you when they are not with us! We love this special corner of England, and built the Shed to reflect its rural surroundings, and offer a cosy welcoming retreat. Sadly the Shed is not suitable for those with mobility problems as the only access is by the outside stairs, but it has proved to be a great base for artists, writers and those with a creative spirit. Brilliant
It’s not often we say a stay is brilliant however on this occasion it was. Great hosts welcoming, considerate and good communication. ‘The Shed’ is definitely not a shed. It’s beautifully and artistically decorated, warm, comfortable and everything you would need. Now we’ve had two nights we plan to be back for a week. Wonderful area looking out on Romney marsh, quiet and peaceful a special time.

The Shed gave us a perfect "home" to explore the marshes. Tina and Jeremy had thought of everything necessary (and more) for a wonderful short break before winter sets in!

Love the Shed
What wonderful property. The Shed is an amazing place to spend a few days relaxing and exploring the local area. Tina and Jeremy are wonderful hosts and Holly was there to greet us everytime we came home. We pottered around Dymchurch, Canterbury, Hythe amd Rye and really enjoyed our visit to Dover Castle. Would highly recommend.

A little of the beaten path, but that just makes it better
There’s so much to say, starting with the wonderful hosts, who made us feel welcome long before we arrived. They were keen to help introduce my dog-phobic wife to Holly, their beautiful golden retriever. And it worked. Holly is every bit as sweet as advertised. The place has several windows that allow for a pleasant breeze to flow through. It’s filled with art, mementos and helpful advice to help find things to keep you busy. Visited Dover Castle and Canterbury, but our most memorable time was sharing a short visit with our hosts, learning about their family and the last 50 years they’ve lived in the former pub that is their home next door.

A perfect rural getaway.
The Shed was a wonderful place to relax in and enjoy the beautiful countryside views. Tina was very welcoming and everything we could possibly need was provided even hot water bottles, had it been cold enough. Lots of interesting information provided on places to go and the history of The Old Oak and the croissants, eggs and other goodies were very much appreciated. Sitting in the garden looking out onto the fields was idyllic. A thoroughly enjoyable stay, I only wish we could have stayed for longer.

Superb!
The Shed was a beautiful property to stay in- very pretty. The hosts were kind and friendly but not interfering. There were a few nice touches such as posies of flowers and a few treats in the kitchen. It was a cool but sunny week and the Shed was warm and comfortable. There was loads to do every day- we stayed 5 nights. We'd recommend Canterbury Cathedral (the architecture was stunning. We enjoyed seeing the crypt too. After spending time in the town, which was characterful too, we returned for Evensong) Sissinghurst gardens (worth a visit even though main summer planting isn't out as spring planting was lovely), Dungeness (although there's the power station, the shingle beach with the old boats was unique and beautiful. The Seafood Shack was lovely too but has very limited opening times). Walks in the lanes and along the canal are nice too- we walked to Saint Romwold's church which was pretty. Overall a prefect get-away for a few days. Thank you.

We had a great stay at the shed. Lovely, cosy property with wonderful views and quiet enough to hear the birds. Tina and Jeremy left some thoughtful touches with everything as we needed it. Close to great places to visit and nice country walks. Thank you very much

Really cosy, homely holiday cottage!
What a lovely little find. We’ve stayed in numerous holiday cottages over the past 5 years and this one was by far the most comforting/homely. Lovely personal touches included homemade shortbread, toiletries in the bathroom and a lovely welcome message. The owners were very nice and didn’t hesitate to help with anything we needed. I’d definitely recommend The Shed! The location was lovely too, not too far from big towns and cities but far away from the hustle and bustle.

lovely being on the Marsh
Lovely self catering space above their workshop. The views across the Marsh flatness all around were beautiful. The owner is an artist, and has tastefully painted some of the walls with nature scenes. Wi Fi was good. Kitchen has utensils, dishwasher, toaster, microwave, etc... all that's needed to cook a meal.

A welcome break!
We enjoyed our break at The Shed. The shed accommodation was very comfortable and had everything to make our stay welcome. On arrival there was a lovely personal greeting, chocolates and fruit the Host had thought of everything, even down to a picnic bag hanging on the coat rack. For those wishing to get away it is ideal, plenty of books, magazines, and local information to read. However, there were noisy and heavy agriculture vehicles passing by in the month of August, in the early hours - but you are in the countryside after all!

The Shed is a wonderful place to stay, very comfortable, clean and was everything we had hoped for.
The location was beautiful as was the garden and we spent a lot of time reading and watching the nesting birds. We're were looking for a relaxing place to unwind and that's exactly what we found at the Shed. Tina and Jeremy are excellent hosts, friendly yet not intrusive. They were also very helpful when we asked about local places to visit. Thank you both for looking after us so well. Excellent place and we hope to return soon.

The Shed was absolutely charming. Set in beautiful countryside it held everything I needed for my five night stay. Very clean and comfortable and lots of thoughtful touches to add to a thoroughly lovely stay. The hosts were a delight to meet, made me feel very welcome and went out of their way to ensure my visit was enjoyable. I cannot recommend The Shed highly enough. It was a perfect holiday.

Comfortable and relaxing break
We loved everything about this property, its location, the thoughtfulness of the hosts Tina and Jeremy who had provided everything one could want, plus a lovely informal family feel. It was very warm and cosy during a blustery, cold week. There are lovely views from all the windows. It is quiet and isolated but well placed for visiting so many interesting spots nearby. Wholeheartedly recommended!

4 night stay for training
The "Shed" was a lovely little home from home for me for a week away carrying out some training. Quite remote but nice and quiet and when clear, a very nice spot to do some star gazing. Tina left some nice little welcome gifts, hot cross buns and milk and eggs. Unfortunately I wasnt able to meet the hosts but we were in touch several times during the week. Thankyou for a lovely stay and when my training comes around again I will certainly be coming back. Gary
