"This is a getaway for locals alike, which is all you need to know. My family has frequented this hotel for decades and while visiting from the US, I picked this for a quick getaway with my husband. "Very nice and quiet location closed to the lake. Included Bavarian breakfast buffet is amazing. Big room, lake view, very clean, and warm staff. Careful with opening balcony door or mosquitoa will invade and disturb your sleep. Area has a lot of trails to walk around, specially nice path near lake which is fully walkable around the lake. "I had a lovely stay here. The hotel was in good condition and the staff were helpful. The roof-top patio and spa area is pleasant. The immediate area is not as lovely. It is set on a fairly busy street with a Getraenkemarkt and gas station directly across - so lighted red signage is a main component of the view from the windows. It is about a 10 minute walk to the lake."

"Peaceful traditional Gasthaus only 25 minutes by train to Munich. Very easy to get to the train. The setting is beautiful, right in the forest and a few miles to the river Isar. Ideal for a run or bike ride. Friendly service with a personal touch and very tasty breakfast and dinner. The owner rents out his classic cars. I took a 1963 Volvo for a ride around the Starnberger See. Fantastic experience."
