"We are very happy with our home away from home while vacationing in Dominica. Leonard was very responsive from the questions we had before we booked until the end of our stay. He helped with taxi arrangements from the airport to recommending a car rental service. We arrived at the house in the evening and there was fresh bread, cheese, juice, bananas and some snacks to tide us over until we went to the grocery store. "We loved our stay at the Sizo Cottage. The cottage is near the main road in the Roseau Valley, but it is also secluded and feels remote. The kitchen wide open to the rainforest valley is just a peaceful and harmonious way of living. We had everything we needed, cooked dinner every evening, had our breakfast in the morning, and went off exploring. Middleham Falls, Trafalgar Falls, Titou Gorge, Fresh Water Lake, all are nearby and convenient, as is Roseau. 10 our of 10, easy."

"There are not enough words to describe the beautiful house and the wonderful host and property manager. They were absolutely beyond wonderful. The home is exactly as pictured BEAUTIFUL the view is BEYOND beautiful, We couldn't have asked for nicer people to work with. The house is nestled between beautiful mountains with a spectacular view. The home is also perfect for a couple or a couple with a small family. We were treated as if we were family and like I said I can't say enough good things...

"House was perfect for our needs. House is within a 20 min walk to city center and still have easy access to transportation. Pictures don’t do it justice; it’s much nicer. The back terrace is perfect to catch the ocean breeze in the morning or evening."

"The location is relatively close to the capital about 10minutes if you are a extra cautious driver like me. The apartment is in a quiet and peaceful area with a river in the back and the most beautiful view of the mountains. "There was nothing to like about this place. It was dirty smell of marijuana. The bathroom had no lighting. the roof was dirty and mouldy. Honestly i don't think this place should be advertised to rent for people. I ended up booking somewhere else because it was not accommodating. The picture advertised is not the real place. I'd like a refund because i only spent 10minutes at this palce and left."

"There was a little snafu when we checked in, as they weren't aware we'd made a booking, but the host was able to quickly got the place ready for us once we got in touch. The apartment is no frills, but it is spacious and has pretty much anything you need for self catering. It's in a quiet neighborhood that is convenient (with a car) to both Roseau and local attractions such as Titou Gorge, Wotten Waven hot springs, Trafalgar Falls, and local adventure companies. We had a great time!"

"I like this small hotel but it is very noisy. We stayed Thursday and Friday nights and both nights the neighboring heavy beat music went all night and into the early morning hours. I put my Bose sound canceling earbuds in which dampened the noise but could still hear the noise."

All About the Anchorage for a Great Stay

"The Anchorage was just what we needed -- location on the main street with parking for our rental car; clean room with AC, mini frig, electric teakettle/coffee & tea supplies; bathroom with shower, sink, toilet, and open closet/shelves; storm window with a view of the ocean; friendly staff; and a full restaurant right next door! The restaurant is located at Ocean's Edge and served us breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, take-away, and even has a bar. There is also a Dive Shop at Ocean's Edge for renting snorkel gear, scuba excursions, and whale watching tours. Anchorage has a meeting room for rent available and an outdoor bar/dance area for rent. (We enjoyed listening to live music one night during our stay.) Note: Anchorage has 12 hotel rooms, with 3 on the ground floor, and the others accessible via stairs. They also have a 3-bedroom apartment with kitchen for rent. Other 10-room block at Anchorage was damaged several years ago in Hurricane Maria. Hopefully this will be renovated in future. When we were at Anchorage their pool had suffered a bit of damage from Hurricane Beryl, so was empty of water and getting painted. Also, the "beach" at Anchorage is very rocky, so wear water shoes and look for waves/current/large rocks before entering. If you have questions, ask Susanna, Celina, and Shannon, who took time to answer all of our inquiries. Very helpful staff. They can also arrange taxi to and from airport if you don't rent a car."
