Cottage was ideal for what we were looking for - self contained, quiet, private, secure parking and great base for cycling both sides of the Loire and very quiet back roads. "Super propriété. Cependant pas de piscine , pas de bain a remous, pas d étang , chemin fermé par une barrière avec cadenas donc pas possible de l emprunté. Babyfoot en très mauvais état.... Certes la maison est très spacieuse.avec une literie au top . la description nous avez fait rêver.mais nous restons très déçu par tout ces manques."

"the bed was a sofa bed although the mattress was ok every time we moved it made load squeaking noise the large entrance gates were attached to our outside wall so every time they were used it felt like the wall was moving and a very loud banging noise some gest returned after midnight some left early about 6 Am the location we good, only a short walk to the restaurants, and near the steps to the chateaux there was free parking in the street"

"Absolutely spectacular. We really enjoyed our time at Chateau de Candes. Bertrand and Sam went out of their way to ensure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. Running this place is not easy but the family are doing their absolute best as custodians. They are fully dedicated and committed to making Chateau de Candes a success. Merci Bertrand et Sam. "Well equipped beautiful cottage in the Loire countryside. Very Clean. Owners are very welcoming and friendly and have a vineyard 1/2 an hour away - worth the trip and the tasting. The house is close to Saumur which is lovely and has lots to see and do, including nice restaurants and is well located for visiting some famous historical sites like Chinon and Fontavraud Abbey. a very relaxing break."

"We absolutely loved our stay at this property. The photos do not do it justice, it is a lot more spacious than it appears online. It’s the ideal location to visit nearby chateaux and places of interest. It was lovely waking up and looking out onto the vineyard. The owner’s wine is exceptional and we can thoroughly recommend a tasting tour. I loved cooking in the kitchen each night as there was every utensil you could want. Fantastic property in amazing location

"The house was a really special place to stay with beautiful rooms and fantastic facilities. Despite the cool, damp weather outside, the house was lovely and warm with easily controllable radiators - a really pleasant surprise in such an old building. The pool was great and the games room was a real treat - especially for my teenage son and husband! The location is great - just round the corner from the centre of Saumur and all it has to offer. We were able to be at the table of one of the excellent local restaurants in minutes by foot. Gilles was an attentive host and made sure we were enjoying our stay. I would highly recommend!"
