Disliked: Room comfort
We stayed in the bedroom with the four poster bed and have to say the accommodation is tired and not necessarily well represented in the pictures that are posted. We arrived one hour after the check in time and although we tried to make contact in advance for instructions on what to do as the site suggests, neither the owner or hotels.com replied to our questions so when we arrived it was pitch black and there were no signs or instructions which was disappointing. We couldn’t even find the building and we’re just giving up and going to try to find somewhere else to stay when the owner did eventually notice our vehicle going up and down the very dark track and came out and flashed a torch to guide us in. She also got me some fresh milk for a much needed cup of tea which was kind.
The mattress is old and dips in the middle so we spent the night trying not to roll into the middle and this properly impacted on our sleep.
A continental breakfast was in a separate building and was very tasty but the owner sat watching us the whole time which made us feel uncomfortable.
I wouldn’t stay here again.
