Wanda Point House - pure tranquillity and walk to beach

This amazing 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with 2 entertaining areas offers mesmerising water views, elevated privacy and is only a two minute walk to the beach. The open plan living area has floor to ceiling windows, looking out across Salamander Bay, an entertainment and socialising hub with comfy lounges, and a 55 inch flat screen TV and free Wi-Fi. It includes a spacious dining setting for eight and a fully equipped, modern kitchen with breath taking water views.

The large front deck has a relaxed lounge setting and catches the sunrise. It is a favourite spot for morning yoga and coffee, a getaway anytime of the day or for evening canapes and drinks. The rear of the home has an oversized covered deck surrounded by tranquil gardens, offering lots of privacy and protection from the south easterlies. It includes a casual lounge setting, gas BBQ and additional dining setting for eight.

All bedrooms are carpeted for luxury and they have new Sealy Posturepedic ensembles with deluxe euro tops for extra comfort plus the home is fitted with ducted reverse cycle air conditioning to ensure your comfort all year round.

The master bedroom has a queen bed and has floor to ceiling glass sliding doors onto the balcony, with sparkling water views, an enormous walk-in wardrobe, remote TV and ensuite. Bedrooms two and three are equally spacious, each with its own built-in wardrobe, ceiling fan and large window ensuring lots of natural light. Bedroom two has a queen bed while bedroom three has 2 king zip singles. The main bathroom has a separate bath, shower and toilet. The lounge room also contains a sofa bed.

There are two covered car spaces at the top of the curved, steep driveway. Two flights of stairs then lead you up to the front door, where your holiday home, balconies and decks are all on the one level.

Wanda Point House is dog friendly (subject to approval, please enquire). As the fence is not fully secure, it is best suited to an obedient dog or small family dog. There are plenty of pretty walks to take and Salamander Beach only 100m away is dog friendly on lead. Please note - no dogs allowed in the carpeted bedrooms or on the beds or furniture. Each furry guest's holiday is $100 per stay.

Some of the luxuries you can enjoy are Platter/Boards, BBQ Packs, Picnics, Breakfast Boxes which can be added when you complete you Guest Agreement. Additional costs apply.

BOND - a refundable bond of $1000 is due 14 days prior to your arrival and is refunded 3-5 days from your departure date.

LINEN & BATH TOWELS ARE SUPPLIED

NO NOISE - The property is in a quiet residential area which is noise sensitive. Any noise after dark that causes neighbours to complain may result in the loss of your bond.

NO VISITORS - We have a strict policy in relation to 'visitors' to the property. A fee of $500 per head will be charged if additional people are found at the property that are over and above the number of beds at the property or guests not registered.

Salamander Bay
Venue was light and airy with beautiful 270 degree + vistas of Salamander Bay. Close to shops and supermarkets. Close to a range of beautiful sandy beaches. Lovely weather, warm days and cool nights. Wife and I enjoyed a fun filled mini holiday.

We all enjoyed our stay and were comfortable. Lovely house and top view. We all agreed that the TV in the bedroom with the ensuite should be replaced with a smart tv. It was disappointing the the tv in that room didn’t work.

the premises was great - it met our expectation - the premises was well presented, comfortable and the balcony was one of the best features of the house. our dog loved the backyard a new place to explore. we all enjoyed our stay - however the steep driveway damaged the front of our car. we left car on the road as not to damage the car more.

Disappointing
The property was tired, disappointing level of cleanliness once you got past the surface-cleanliness. It may be a sand-free house but it’s not a dust/dirt-free house. Not enough seating for the number of people, apart from at the table and the lounges were not comfortable. Back deck needs care - it’s a hazard. Dishwasher was really inadequate and we were appalled at the lack of water-saving shower heads. Expecting that children will sleep on a sofa bed in the middle of the living area with huge windows that have no blinds is a joke. How can they sleep there, what are the adults supposed to do once children are in bed? Thank goodness we’d thought ahead and taken blow up mattresses. This really shouldn’t be advertised as a option without clear explanation. It’s also not near a “beach” it’s near a narrow strip of seaweed covered sand and water so vlogged with seaweed it was in swimmable, which was truly very disappointing.

Fantastic and relaxing stay
Great property with beautiful views over Salamander Bay. Very relaxing, plenty of space and very well equipped. Easy walking distance to local village shops, walk to Soldiers Point and 15 minute drive to all the other key areas in and around Port Stephens. Be wary of the drive - it is definitely steep so recommend parking down and walking up if you can. Overall brilliant and would thoroughly recommend.

Beautiful home with amazing views
The house is fantastic. Really impressive. The deck is amazing. Great amenities. 5mins walk to the village. 3 mins walk to the beach. We would definitely stay again. In fact we extended by one night. The driveway is very steep and there are a lot of stairs to access the property but the listing does mention this and we were fine with it. May not be so suitable for people who struggle with stairs or steep gradients.

Well presented property with stunning outlook
The property was as advertised, clean, confortable and without fault. Driveway is very steep, a bit tricky and the stairs up are long (as you might expect to reach such heights). The Managing agent - Stay Port Stephens - is difficult to contact: Emails / messages not answered and uses o/seas messaging services at the weekend. Having booked with "Stayz" and noticed payments processed by "Stay" (without the 'z') looked suspicious. Then being unable to contact anyone at all to verify, we were convinced this was a scam. Fortunately, we eventually spoke with someone in USA who could confirm the booking. Phew! We still had to make several attempts to phone the Agent to obtain Check-in instructions (which were sent but we never saw them...not even in junk). It shouldn't be this hard. I would encourage Stay Port Stephens to review their processes. Apart from that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

winter waterside getaway
The house was a good size, and in a good location . Some of the door locks did not seem to work well, and some of the light bulbs needed replacing. The internet also was not working, but we managed ok ,by using our phones to hotspot. The driveway is quite steep and the flights of stairs might be challenging for any with mobility issues though not for the able bodied. The house is close to some handy local shops, and a short drive to lots of local sights. The view from the house is lovely, and having the scenery and local wildlife in view is nice.

Great location BUT NO INTERNET!!!
The house is well located, beautiful view. The house is spacious with 3 very comfortable bedrooms. However, the heating is great in the living area but pretty non-existent in the bedroom area and when it's cold, it's VERY cold. It's also in need of some cleaning - not sure when cobwebs were removed or the fridge cleaned - inside or out... As for the internet... NONE! The agent was very helpful in trying to get it to work, but if you say on your blurb that you have WIFI then you need to be sure you have WIFI - My husband and I both had work to do and both our boys had Uni work to do - IMPOSSIBLE! For that reason alone we will never go to this home again.

Great house and beautiful views, perfect for our stay with extended family. Very clean 👌🏼 . Only let down is some general maintenance is needed (a number of lights and exhaust fan not working) and being asked to take the wheely bins out to the street after just a weekend stay is a first at a holiday rental for me.

Family Holiday
The layout and views from the residence met our expectations. Generally the facilities within the residence met our expectations. The family overall had a good holiday, relaxed and visited various tourist attractions. Entertainment and restaurants were good and value for money. Elements within the residence that we were advised operated did not. The elements that did not operate were the exhausts fans over stove and ensuite. A number of lights globes blown. Bath plug unable to hold water,this was fixed during the stay. Main sliding door between living area and bedrooms, no rollers, hence did not slide as designed, advised been like it for 3 months. BBQ required extensive clean prior to use, not only plate, all associated frame work. Dog hair evident throughout residence. One questions with all these issues, has an independent audit been undertaken by the property manager prior to our arrival. If so it would have been nice to be advised of these issues. Yes the driveway is steep and we were well aware of this when booking, however it would have been and should be noted in the info,the type of vehicle that can safely access the driveway. In our case a large vehicle could not traverse the driveway. In addition it should also be noted that the driveway surface when affected by a small amount of moisture, and i mean small cannot be traversed. The surface finish needs a review. Finally, i strongly recommended that a some form of advice be be issued for persons with a back or leg medical conditions wishing to walk up the driveway when the driveway is either dry or moist. In summary, was the residence value for money, i have some reservations.

A delightful breakaway
Our 2 night stay at Wanda Point House was delightful. The house was spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished with everything we could need. It was warm on the chilly nights we were there and very comfortable. The views from the house were spectacular. The convenience to all we wanted to see was much appreciated. The closeness of the beach allowed us time to roam along it at our leisure. The only thing missing was a working coffee machine but we found an excellent coffee shop at Fingal Beach which also had yummy Portuguese tarts. Thank you to the friendly staff at Stayz at Port Stephens; your help was much appreciated.
