We booked for 2 people via Expedia and were given a price, but when we arrived we told it was an extra £10 for the ‘extra’ person ( there were only 2 of us). When we queried this, the staff member doing the check in called the manager ( who was on site), but they just confirmed the extra £10, and left it to the junior staff member ( who was lovely) to tell us. No effort at all made by management to explain this extremely unusual practice, which was very disappointing. Otherwise, food good and room pleasant, albeit very hot as it was in the roof - the provided fan didn’t really help, and the weather was warm but not very hot.

This is a nice village pub and guest house next to The New Forest and just 9 miles from the historic cathedral city of Salisbury, which we visited the next day. The newly refurbishment guest facilities provided us with relaxing space and a nice breakfast in the morning. The staff was friendly and welcoming.
