What a lovely hotel .. everything I was expecting and more .. the staff were excellent and helpful … the breakfast was excellent.. will definitely be back
Always a warm welcome from all of the staff. The menu is varied, priced well and always tastes good with a good choices for vegetarians. We have stayed here numerous times and wouldn't go anywhere else.
Lovely place and village and although we were eating out the meal options looked good and the breakfast was lovely.
Downside, difficult getting a taxi, got one in the end but definitely pre book taxi as early as you can, other occasions, I wouldn’t of needed a taxi, only a minor thing this, would stay again though
Really quite enjoyed this little pub stay. Tuesday night is bell ringing practice at the neighboring church until nine so parking is a premium if arriving late. Busy friendly place with an awesome breakfast.
All the staff are so welcoming, friendly and chatty. The food, both evening meal and breakfast, was delicious. The room was comfortable and cosy. This is such a wonderful place to stay. We will be back :-)
Lovely , comfortable stsy. We arrived very early but were able to buy ourselves a breakfast and were given a key for when we returned from a family wedding nearby. The staff were absolutely brilliant.
A village inn in essence, bigger than expected, well looked after and clean with pleasant, helpful staff. Plenty of parking and quiet. Good bar choice and would stay there again. The only slight letdown was the Sunday roast lunch which was over-cooked and tasted and looked like it had been kept warm for hours. The other meals were adequate.
Another comfy stay with great food
They are constantly doing things to the place - i'm sure such an old building needs constant work !
The sausage and mash beat me - really good
room at the back was really quiet
great value and far more pleasant than staying in a "Premier lodge"
Its out of the way, but well worth finding
see you all soon
Cannot fault friendliness of the staff nor the food. Absolutely amazing service from Amanda, Daisy and Aaron and the rest of the team here. It’s my first visit and I’ve already booked to stay for each month for the rest of the year due to work. Large carpark, good WiFi, safe and welcoming. What more could you want. It’s a hidden treasure.

Disliked: Cleanliness
OK but not outstanding
Friendly and helpful staff, An old and historic building, out of the way, beware the narrow Cornish roads. Stayed 2 nights, overall level of cleanlisness was average. Even though a resident, being asked to settle bill in restaurant before being able to sit outside for dessert was demeaning.
Nice place although not a good view from my room. Good welcome and food in evening was nice. Parking was conveniently in a car park across the riD that i was told had cameras
The staff were all lovely, The mattress I slept on was really uncomfortable and needed to be changed! The restaurant food in the evening was really good which made it strange that the breakfast was really disappointing! Rubbish cheap sausages, one small slice of bacon and cold coffee.
On the whole everything was as you would expect from a rural pub type accommodation. Good restaurant food, lovely room, decorated in keeping with its age. I liked it. Breakfast wasn't the best, the only smallish downside in a nice relaxing, quiet weekend. Just what was needed.
