Near the characteristic town of Sambuca lies this beautiful vacation home surrounded by a spacious fenced outdoor area overlooking the valley of Belice and Lago Arancio (Orange Lake). Not far away are also the sea at Menfi, the town of Sciacca and the archaeological site of Selinunte. The area has a long history dating back to ancient times and the places have preserved their features of Arabic architecture; the Saracen Emir Zabut built his castle right on these hills. Today there are no traces of Zabut's castle, but on its foundations a terrace has been built, the Belvedere di Sambuca, which dominates the surrounding landscape. The Saracenic Quarter, on the other hand, has remained intact, with its narrow, sometimes blind and very winding alleys, enriched with small courtyards and underground quarries, which have recently been brought to light: A jewel of ancient urban planning, which perfectly reflects the vision of an Arab city center. There are many things to do in the surrounding area: Definitely worth a visit is the Archaeological Site of Monte Adranone; On the other hand, if you are a true nature lover, the Nature Reserve of Monte Genuardo should be on your list. But also a walk along the shores of Lake Arancio with its vineyards and olive groves is definitely worthwhile. Also for those who like good cuisine, Sambuca offers many specialties served with optimal wine.
