The hotel is about 20 minutes up a very steep and winding road above Taorimina so it's not convenient to go back and forth. The decor is dated, but the hotel has an old world charm and the setting is beautiful. The back of the hotel looks at Mount Etna and the wonderful pool faces it too. The breakfast was nice and had typical Sicilian pastries. They could update the decorations in the rooms and lobby.

My wife and I just returned from a week-long stay at the Mazzaro sea Palace. We were captivated by everything about the resort, but most notably the superior quality of the staff. To begin, the hotel is in a beautiful setting on a small, peaceful cove. Our junior suite was large, well-appointed, comfortable, and spotless. The twice-daily room service ensured that it remained that way throughout our stay. We loved our private balcony where we could read, listen to music, and just absorb our beautiful, sunny, and warm environs. There were a couple of minor mechanical issues with equipment in our room, but those were fully rectified in but a few minutes. The breakfast fare was varied and nutritious. The dinner menu was first class, the food delicious, wine selection excellent. We were ably assisted in planning reasonably-priced day excursions to locations of interest outside of Taormina. By far the best part of staying at the Mazzaro Sea Palace was the superior caliber of the staff--front desk, restaurant wait staff, room keeping, pool and beach attendants, maintenance staff, concierge, and bell hops. Since we stayed a full week we were able to interact with several employees. Without a single exception, each individual employee did everything they could to ensure our comfort and best experience, doing so in an authentic and very friendly manner. If you're seeking an extraordinary five star experience in Sicilia, we highly recommend the Mazzaro Sea Palace.

What a treat to be able to spend a few nights in this beautiful oasis. The minute we arrived. Marco greeted us and The lovely ladies at the desk were welcoming friendly, helpful, professional. Every inch of the property was beautifully maintained and gave us a great sense of being in historic Sicily feeling like royalty . The restaurant which we ate at two nights was a surprise ,Michelin star  food, cleverly and tastefully each course was delicious. Wine list was full of beautiful Sicilian wines and a showstopper was having a very special cocktail made right at our table. I have had the good fortune from working so hard my life to stay at many four and five star hotels around the world and this will not disappoint . Our room was so comfortable, tastefully decorated & beautiful I didn’t want to leave the room . The beach was just steps away, and we swam in the beautiful Ionian Sea , the hotel is a destination, (we did go winetasting during the day at Benanti an excellent tour and tasting) hotel definitely worth a stay if you need to relax and want to be pampered -oh, and the swimming pool was magnificent along with serving cocktails and food poolside.

Wonderful experience. Front desk staff was exceptional. We would have extended our stay but they were fully booked!

Second time staying at this hotel and we weren’t disappointed coming back. The hotel itself is somewhat dated, but the location, with the views over Etna and the fantastic pool and beach area are fantastic. The staff are friendly and helpful too…. all good!
