"We recently stayed in the space above the tavern, which is part of Olema House, and overall, we had a nice experience. Check-in was smooth and seamless, and the receptionist was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Our room met—and honestly exceeded—our expectations in terms of comfort and design. That said, there were a few areas that could use improvement. Leading up to our stay, I tried to contact the hotel multiple times over the span of a couple weeks with no luck. It wasn’t until one or two days before our check-in that I was finally able to get someone on the phone. That delay was frustrating and made it hard to plan ahead. We had dinner at Due West, and the food was good. However, the service was inconsistent—we had to repeatedly ask for simple things like utensils, water, and sauces. The staff was kind, just a bit forgetful. The biggest drawback was the noise on the night of our stay. When we returned to our room around 9:00–9:15 PM, there was a party on the property that was extremely loud and definitely affected the peaceful experience we were hoping for. As for the property itself—it’s charming, but parts of it feel a bit worn. The outdoor fire pit area, for example, had mismatched and weathered furniture that didn’t quite align with the price point or the “luxury” label. All that being said, I did enjoy our visit and would stay here again. The property is beautiful and has a lot of potential,it just needs a bit more consistency and polish to fully ask high rat"

"This place is so well-appointed with nice little touches all around. The owners have been very thoughtful about making their guests' stays easy and comfortable. Location-wise it was perfect for us - quiet and peaceful, a lovely relaxing getaway. We will definitely stay there again when we're in the area!"

"This is one of those very special VRBOs in which you race through the home upon arrival to discover each room. It's a long epic drive to the top of the hill to your very private castle house.The kitchen was fully stocked for me to make meals and there are great food options 15 minutes away.I have small kids and it was a little stressful to have them playing around the spiral staircase, but we survived. I'm not holding that against the property.Stunning through and through; we didn't want to leave : )"

"Woodacre is a great location and this property is in a perfect spot ... high on a hill overlooking the valley. Fully equipped. Great shower. Super back deck. Very comfy bed and pillows (nice surprise). I was visiting friends in Fairfax so this was minutes away. Hiking nearby is very nice, the local deli has sandwiches and breakfast menus that were a surprise and it was quiet. Sunny the dog visited a few days and got treats I always carry on the road. What a jewel he is. The only thing I noticed was that there were no smoke or CO alarms. An easy fix. The landscaping on the property is A+. Gorgeous roses, lilaces, etc ... Perfect for am coffee. Enjoyed my stay."
