Checkerboard House 3 Bedrooms-Sea World, Lackland

Fun & comfy 3 bed/2 bath house in San Antonio. Located inside Loop 1604, it's a 15 min drive to Lackland AFB & Sea World and a 20-25 min drive to downtown attractions, The Riverwalk, 6 Flags, and the San Antonio Zoo. Pets are considered on a case-by-case basis.

You will enjoy the open concept floor plan with a large dining table and a built-in bench for plenty of seating & the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare and serve meals!

The Master Suite includes a king size bed and a walk-in shower. Bedroom 2 has a full size bed and bedroom 3 features a twin over full bunk bed. The hall bath includes a tub/shower combo and there is a washer & dryer in the garage stocked with laundry detergent & bleach.

Smart TVs in the living room and 2 of the bedrooms so you can stream your favorites from Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, etc. A high chair, pack-n-play & stroller are available for your little ones.

The back yard features a covered checkerboard patio with giant checkers as well as a picnic table with umbrella, fire pit, charcoal grill, hammock and giant Connect 4!

There is enough space to sleep 8 people, assuming one person will sleep on the sofa.
Although the house is suitable for infants and includes
a high chair, play pen/crib and stroller, it is not "baby proofed."
The house is situated in a long, quiet Culebra-de-sac with no through traffic. With quick access to Loop 1604, you can easily connect to the major highways & get pretty much anywhere in San Antonio in 30 minutes or less.

Great stay
If you are looking for a place to stay while in San Antonio the checkerboard house is wonderful. Very clean and very easy to get a hold of the owners. We would definitely stay there again.

Good location
The neighborhood is old, but the house is updated and comfortable. It was about 15 minutes from Lackland Air Force Base, where we attended grandson's graduation it seemed we were able to get to all of the attractions within about 15 minutes.

Clean house to stay in
We stayed here for our son’s graduation from BMT at Lackland and it’s just inside the 1604 loop. The house was clean and the AC worked great! Lots of restaurants nearby and Lackland was about a 15 minute drive, depending on traffic.

My spouse and I were visiting our daughter and fiancé who just moved to the San Antonio area. This house was perfect for us, as it was just 10 mins from them and was centrally located to everything that we did. House was clean and had everything we needed. We were happy with our choice of places to stay in San Antonio. The location was a little out of the way from the busy parts of SA, that's why I chose it. Loved relaxing in the sunny part of the January day in the backyard.

Just right!
We stayed here for our BMT graduation. It was clean, comfortable, exactly as listed. The neighborhood was quiet. The house was well stocked with things you might need for a stay. Owners were very responsive to any questions. Beds and bedding were comfortable. My only suggestion is to add another piece of furniture to the family room. We had 5 adults staying and a couple others visit during our visit with our airman those days and there wasn’t enough room on the sofas for everyone. Would stay again! Great value!

Lakland and sea world visit
This was a nice house to stay in. We were there for our granddaughters BMT graduation. Easy to get to the base and lots of food and stuff around Seaworld is just right up the street almost anything you can reach in San Antonio within twenty minutes to 25.neighborhood was quiet house was clean, very easy to get to .very recommendable if you’re in the area looking for a place to stay ..

Nicely appointed rental!
Very well kept, and comfortable home. Quiet neighborhood with a hoard of resident cats! 😂 One of the more well supplied kitchens I’ve found yet; since I like to cook for my crew, this was a nice surprise compared to the spartan inclusions at most VRBOs/Air B&Bs. Highly recommend!

Dave was absolutely awesome; very quick to respond, and even went out of his way to bring a remote & make sure we had room for our trash since the holidays changed trash pick up. Everything was just as advertised! My family really enjoyed the backyard & the variety of games that were provided. Location was safe, quiet and 25mins or less away from everything we did! Would definitely stay here again or at either of the other properties he has!

House was a great size for 3 adults a teen and 2 younger kids. The youngest loved the outdoor connect four and fenced yard! They were able to play outside while we were home and the teen loved it too! Close to all the places we wanted to go, yet still enough away it was quiet. Large kitchen and washer/dryer sure was a plus! Had one small issue, and while it just was one of those things that happens, host immediately took care of it. what a great New Years family vacation !

4.5 Stars! Checkerboard House provided a convenient rental for our annual trip to see relatives. San Antonio has much to offer, and this house was located near the stores, restaurants, and movie theater we visited. On Independence Day, there were many neighbors' cars parked along the streets; however, residents are accustomed to yielding. Because we stayed in July, I'm glad I brought a small fan which I used when bird watching under the awning out back. Surprisingly, the kitchen dining area seemed larger in real life than in the listing's photos.

Comfy house!
We travel quite often to San Antonio for my sons shooting competitions at the National Shooting Complex. House was perfect for what we needed, a place to rest and wash up. Only suggestion I have is having a few items for use that most families forget to pack (like us…ha!), small bar soap, shampoo, just small travel items that guest could use if needed. We should have been more responsible and remembered the items…I guess from our previous location stays we were used to having little life needs if we forgot ours. Other than that the place was great and the family was great to communicate with!!
