Although I found it odd that music in the dining hall and main area started to play at 7am and could be heard into the rooms. Music should not start until later, regardless of breakfast time to respect guests long travel days and needing sleep. Other than that, it was a good experience. "

"This property is right next to the cathedral. Our balcony opened up directly facing the cathedral and it was simply magical. Our room (room 2) had high vaulted ceilings and garden doors that open up to a central second floor overlooking a charming restaurant! The staff is warm and friendly and everything was spotless! Definitely exceeded our expectations! One thing: if you don’t like church bells ringing around the clock or hearing beautiful singing from Mass then don’t book this hotel. For us...

"Ilo Rojo is on hill, a steep hill. And at first it seems daunting, but it is worth the climb. Our room had a generous balcony/terrace that looked over the city and beyond. The staff here are extremely efficient, helpful and friendly (a special shout-out to Lupita, Martin and Angel). There is a bus stop almost outside the entrance, which runs every 5 minutes or so it seems and for a whopping 8 pesos you don't have to walk the 20 minutes to downtown (or more importantly back up.)
