To our surprise, we were within 3 minute walk to the best parts of Catania with good restaurants, lively action, and lots of things going on. "Perfect location adjacent to trsin and bus stations but, as do often in such cases, the immediate area is shabby and the haunt of prostitutes and other street life. No real danger but hardly ideal..The hotel itself is a grand old palazzo with many beautiful features, especially the interior gardens. It's only a 15 minute walk to the nicer parts of Catania. I'd stay here again."

"The property has to be considered within the price, which is the lowest I paid in Sicily. For that it is reasonable. The owner is very friendly and helpful. There was parking which I appreciated. But, the place was quite run down - mould and flaking paint etc. No breakfast, and the closest shop you have to walk on a terrifying road with no pavement where you think every car might run you down. But, the price is certainly fair. Best for solo travellers."
