We’ve had an absolutely horrible stay at this hotel. Ants were crawling all around the bathroom. When I brought it to the attention of management, I was told they were “common” household ants. I’ve traveled to many places in my life and I’ve never once encountered ants in my hotel room. Hotel is extremely outdated and dingy. Not sure how this place has a 9 star rating.

My wife and I stayed at Lavender by the Sea for our anniversary, and it was everything we hoped for! The space is so peaceful, making it ideal for a relaxing getaway. The aesthetic is absolutely adorable, with charming decor and a cozy vibe. Our room was spacious, with clean and comfortable beds that made it easy to unwind. The added convenience of a fridge and microwave was perfect for storing snacks and leftovers from nearby spots. The bathroom was spotless, and it was clear that cleanliness is a top priority here. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made our experience even better. The location is also fantastic—within walking distance to great restaurants and bars, adding convenience and variety to our stay. The beautiful scenery surrounding the area really made our anniversary feel special. Highly recommend!

This was a fantastic location… Wonderful hotel, staff were fantastic… I would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Santa Barbara. We were within walking distance to the pier, beach, and all of the restaurants and shopping on State Street.
