Santo Grial is a pension-style hotel in the middle of old Santiago. Checkin was easy albeit treatment was a bit rough. There is one common area but we did not use it - not inviting and too dark for our taste. It was clean, though. It is right in the middle of town, walkable to anywhere.
The room and bathroom were big, clean, and adequate; mattress needs changing, though. Closet is huge. Room had huge windows that opened to a beautiful plaza. WiFi worked well.
Our main issue with this pension is the noise. Our room faced Rua do Vilar, one of the busiest streets in all of Santiago. During the day, it was lovely. But, at night, in the first floor of the adjacent building, there is a cafe/bar that closes in the early hours of the next morning. And they set up tables outside. And the plaza is right there. People were not only loud, but drunk-loud until 4am, sometimes later. We did not sleep for the two days we stayed there. DO NOT get a room facing the street unless you want to join the party outside.
Check-out was easy - we just left the key in the room. No human involved.
All in all, if you are in party mode, this is your hotel.
