"We stayed in one of the cave rooms for 2 nights. Loved this place.! Location is perfect! Everything is within walking distance. Also there is a rooftop patio where you can enjoy a glass of wine while admiring the sunset and Matera. Francisco makes this place extra special. His enthusiasm for Matera is infectious. When we checked in, he not only gave us a map of Matera but also gave us suggestions on where to eat and what to visit. My only advise is to check your email for directions ( which...

"This property deserves a big thumbs up. Cave rooms were very well designed with a lot of attention to detail (lights, candles, custom shower gels). Breakfast was one of the best I had recently with a lot of local cheese and fruits instead of banal buffet items. Ricotta was simply amazing. Staff was polite and helpful. I would definitely stay again. The only recommendation I would give is that since each room is unique I would put each room and its images separately instead of room category. "

"The hotel is in a great location to explore Matera, and some of the rooms are in actual caves (it's a great experience for a night or two) without windows. These rooms are very nice and have a good spacious shower. Some rooms are not in the check-in building and so a walk down some stone steps may be required. "
