Great location and a great home
This would be a five-star review in all aspects except for a few maintenance issues that need attention: 1. Some light bulbs need to be replaced: one in the entry hall, one at ceiling level in the living room area, and one under-cabinet light in the kitchen. 2. The guest bath sink drain plug is inoperable. 3. The guest bathroom toilet paper dispenser falls apart when used. With these maintenance issues addressed, we’d highly recommend this home for a quiet retreat for a couple.

Vacasa fail
The stove was broken/dangerous and we were unable to cook all the food we brought. Communication with Vacasa was very difficult, and they were very resistant to doing any repairs. Beware if you are renting through Vacasa. They are cutting corners and not maintaining their properties!

Serious property management issues
The place is absolutely beautiful. But there are serious issues with Vacasa management. We got there and there was no heat and no hot water. There was only one extra blanket. They don't provide firewood or kindling for the fire place either. Turns out they forgot to fill the propane tank. It took a day to get this taken care of and multiple phone calls and emails. The local person was nice and responsive, but this is a pretty bad oversight from the property management. It rained for most of the time and 2 skylights leaked. We had 3 pots in the living room which created a symphony of continuous drops. There were also just 2 cook tops working. This was disappointing, because the place is nice, but all these issues certainly soured the stay.

Relaxing Time Away
We had a delightful, relaxing and absolutely beautiful stay here. The accommodations were perfect. My only (minor) complaint was that the office was nearly 10 miles beyond the property. We were supposed to go there for a parking pass before entering the house. Since we arrived as the sun was setting (totally gorgeous) we postponed that until the following morning. Not a problem. Overall we had a fabulous time. Loved the forest view!

Away in the woods
We went to get away from everything and play games. It was rainy misty, which is lovely from the warmth inside looking out the windows. There are hiking trails nearby. After hiking in the misty cold, the hot tub and sauna hit the spot. The kitchen is well stocked.

Great spot for forest bathing
Every room is designed to maximize views of the redwood forest, and the feeling of being surrounded by their beauty. It's easy to get from this nearly silent immersion in the woods to the beautiful walks along the Sea Ranch coast, and I'm glad that we stayed here so were able to enjoy the best of both environments.

A wonderful, serene time
Our stay was exactly what we needed: A clean, serene getaway from the city. The house was clean with plenty of activities to do inside. It was close to the beach and downtown Gualala which was super convenient. The hot tub was luxuriously large and it really felt like you were in a treehouse. We called Vacasa because we needed more propane for the grill and they took care of everything quickly which was awesome! I absolutely recommend staying here and can't wait to go again!

Elegant Redwood Retreat
This is a lovely, graceful cabin in a wooded area of Sea Ranch. The huge windows and plentiful skylights surround you in the Redwood forest. It's like a warm & cozy forest bath. The canvas window shades with rope cords are really cool and make it feel like you're on a ship. We loved the sauna! The big great room was lovely and comfortable for our family. We enjoyed the movies, games and cozy forest feeling. On the downside, the cabin could have used a bit more TLC in the cleaning job. There was a sour/cheese-like odor in the office/loft, so a deep clean is probably needed there. The front entrance and decks were in need of sweeping. We found trash around the hot tub. The hot tub would not go above 102', so didn't feel that warm to us in chilly and foggy late December. The other odd thing was how few plates, bowls, mugs there were. We were just three and kept running out of dishware. I think there were exactly three of each item or something like that. It could use a full set of these items. Just a note that the fireplace was broken when we visited in December 2021. This was fully disclosed in the VRBO listing, so no worries there, but just flagging in case others have their hearts set on warming up by the fireplace. Finally, just a flag to other guests that you need to go pick up the check-in packet at the main office and can't just arrive and check in. So save time for that drive. Overall, a very lovely and elegant cabin in the woods.

Needs more kitchen ware. Only 3 dinner plates; 1 wine glass (added 2 more from garage). We had a power outage and flashlights needed batteries. The ones supplied were dead. Hot tub was fantastic. We’d definitely come back . Beautiful scenery..

Beautiful south end forest location
Gorgeous and comfortable space surrounded by the redwoods, close to small shops on Annapolis Rd, Moonraker, and forest trails. Peaceful sanctuary well stocked with games and movies. Nice hot tub and has a private sauna. Kitchen and laundry well equipped. Check-in/check out were seamless, though allowed times were (4 pm in/ 10 am out) were not ideal. Second bedroom is quite small w/only twin beds. Great property would stay again.

Amazing, hidden in the trees.
Wonderful home in the throw back of the origional The Sea Ranch design of homes that nestle into the natural landscape. Felt like we were far in a forest and yet a short trip to town for groceries. The sauna and hot tub are terrific. The home is a little dated in the 70's but clean and a wonderful place to relax and hang out with friends and family.

Great house in the woods
We enjoyed our stay but the beds were uncomfortable. The sauna was amazing, felt like we were staying in a tree house and the deck was fabulous. Hot tub water was a little dirty and oily. For check in it was frustrating to drive 20+ minutes past the house to pick up passes and come back after driving so long to get up there. Would be helpful to have passes at the house.

Peaceful Bliss
The hot tub and sauna were amazing! Both were plenty hot with adjustable heat settings, also adjustable jets for the tub. Used them both multiple times every day and night. Leaning back in the hot tub while surrounded by redwoods at night, so blissed out. This home truly has had everything we needed for gourmet cooking and entertainment. Huge DVD collection(movies, music), and even bigger selection of books. Super soft and absorbent bath towels and pool towels. Loved having fully stocked firewood with an axe to make kindling. Perfect location in the forest hills up away from the windy beach, but only a few minutes drive to the beach. Hiked for miles in the deep redwoods and on the beaches. Great selection of board games and puzzles too. Just bring food and drinks to enjoy. WiFi worked quite well, but resist temptation to use it as long as possible, remember you are escaping the reminders of stress! Only didn't like having to drive further north into Gualala for check-in to get our parking pass and rec permit. But it wasn't a hardship as we stopped for beers and seafood nibbles at Cove Azul and watched the sunset

Beautiful. Serene. Perfect amenities. . . truly a gem of a place.
We really loved staying at this lovely cabin in the woods. Great design, lots of books, music, and every kitchen tool you would need to cook anything! Our kids (6 and 7 yrs.) playing outside in the woods making fairy houses while we enjoyed being able to see them from almost all angles of the house from inside while cooking. Wrap around windows make this view magical. Epic walks around the property and quiet. Truly a dream!

Great place to chill in the woods
My girlfriend and I spent an anniversary weekend here and we really enjoyed our stay. The house was nice and spacious for a couple, 2 bathrooms is always a nice luxury to have. We found the kitchen adequately equipped to make some nice meals while we were here. The fire place was fantastic, it kept the place toasty warm. We were really happy with the nice big carpeted area in front of the fire place. It was a great place to roll out our yoga mattes. Roll up all of the blinds and as you stretch or do some yoga you feel like you are in the middle of the forest. The windows are nicely placed to give you that feel. We also enjoyed some time in the hot tub but we really loved the sauna. Overall it was a great forest getaway. I give it 4 stars because the drive all the way in to Gualala to pick up the house packet was a little bit of a drag. I guess if you are coming from the north it isn't a problem. When you come from the south you drive about 15 or 20 minutes past the house into Gualala to pick up the house packet. Coming from the Bay Area on a Friday night, I could probably do without the extra 30 minutes of driving. At least you don't have to return it to Gualala when you leave. We still really enjoyed our stay. Thanks for sharing your place!
